I had been to Gather previously before a recent YELP event but didn't have the time to explore it…read more I returned here to see the entire store. Set on two levels they have much Pittsburgh themed merchandise. Some of this merchandise I have seen in other stores but some were very unique. Set on two levels they currently have Christmas merchandise reduced by 30% They sell different types of giftware including tea towels with clever sayings on them. Beautiful scented candles in small milk jars, artwork, elixir bottles, baby gifts and so much more. They even have an area where you can get a box called "gather" in different sizes. You can then put what you want in it and they will handle the shipping for you or you can take care of it yourself. Depending upon what you buy items can be a bit pricey. I was blown away by a Pittsburgh painted water bottle. Although it was a slightly higher than what I would pay the detail on it is amazing and it does keep beverages cold for a while once outside the refrigerator. With that i purchased a holiday candle and ornament that was reduced. This is a great store if you're looking for something different or can't get to any place else to shop for local merchandise. Located on Beaver St in the Sewickley business district, metered street parking is available.

My house serves some unique constraints about maintaining the yard as it is on two different…read morelevels. After suffering through edging and mulching last year I decided to reach out to A&N Lawn Service as they are only about a half mile from my house to have them quote me on the work for this year. About two months ago the owner came out, walked the yard with me, and gave me a quote - which came in right around where I was expecting. He mentioned they had about a 4 week lead time which was fine with me. 2 months later, the work still hadn't been completed but considering the amount of rain we had in June I assumed they were behind schedule across the board. As soon as I considered giving them a call they were at my house and underway. Between 3 or so workers, they edged, cleared out the mulch beds, sprayed for weeds, and mulched. Took them about 6 hours total and I couldn't believe the amount of effort they put in. They went above and beyond what I would have even done for my yard and I'm pretty OCD when it comes to yardwork. For the price I'm paying and the work they did, I am 100% satisfied. Communication could have been a little bit better, but that's about it.

Thank you Suburban Floral Shoppe for coming through more than once now and delivering beautiful…read moreflowers to my mother in law. We've ordered from them in the past and they did a great job. Last year we went with a different florist to avoid some of their fees (as delivery/service costs had gone up). We definetely paid for what we got at the other shop. This year we are back to Suburban Floral Shoppe and yes, it's pricey, but they deliver-literally great flowers. In the past they made the mistake of delivering the birthday flowers too early. This year I especified the day they needed to be delivered in CAPS letters in the comments stating when I wanted them delivered. I said NO EARLIER. This seemed to have worked as they were delivered on her actual birthday. Being that we dont live in town, simple things like getting flowers delivered, can become big things. Thank you again Suburban Floral Shoppe for delivering a beautiful bouquet on the right day!

Yes, it was a nice arrangement, but I've been disappointed by florists before when what I order is not what is delivered. Especially frustrating when you are doing it from another area and are unfamiliar with shops in the area.

I tried a rew places while shopping in Squirrel Hill, but alas came up empty handed. Spoiled Chic's did not disappoint however. I bought my friend some nice Ombre scarves from Two's Co. One thing that I like is Spoiled Chics has a lot of merchandise that's made in the USA and is NOT sweat-shop sourced. They also buy a lot of items from female enterpreneurs. And in the past they have supported several womens' causes.
