I have long hair but not mermaid long hair, and even thru bleaching and highlights I manage to keep my length, she takes care of my hair. If I want to go light she'll make my hair light, but in phases so it doesn't dry out or damage to much. Most places don't do that or care enough to think about that. A round brush was not used at any point my hair was washed and blow dried using hands, and a paddle brush was only used for my curtain bangs. A flat iron was later used to curl my hair. While it looked fine, a true blow out usually gives a very different feel and finish, so I was a little bummed, especially for the $60 price. This was my first time having a blow out done this way, I wasn't sure if this is standard here or just a difference in technique. For future lesson learned on my part, I'll be sure to confirm the styling method beforehand. In addition, the salon's cleanliness was disappointing. My appointment was early in the morning around 9:00 a.m. there were dead flies on the window ledge and hair left behind in the space. I would have expected the salon to be thoroughly cleaned either at closing or before opening. I'm mentioning this in hopes the owner can address it and remind staff how important it is to maintain a clean environment. We all clean our homes everyday right.

Cuts: Although my hair is not overly complicated to cut - it can be a little feisty, naturally curly, not necessarily thick but I have a lot of it. I like to keep my hair short and stylist. She has never let me down, she listens to what I want and has performed miracles with her scissors. She offers suggestions on how to better care for my locks without trying to push products. She never judges (or at least not out loud) and I always feel comfortable asking her questions. Color: She is an absolutely INCREDIBLE colorist. She listens, takes the time to understand what you want, and makes it happen. I have aging hair - it's graying in all the wrong places - and she has a special flair for making it look healthy and vibrant. She never does more then I can maintain and manage and will actually color it for longevity rather than trying to get me to come back every couple of weeks.
