A BUTCHER CUT BY ALLAN PARSS…read more If you value your hair, stay far away. I went in for a simple trim and left with what is, without question, the worst haircut of my life. Allan aggressively razored my hair, removed an unbelievable amount of density, and created short, choppy layers that I never asked for. Throughout the appointment my hair was positioned in a way that prevented me from seeing what was actually being done until it was too late. Now, over 8 weeks later, my hair is still a disaster. The ends are frayed, shredded, and breaking. It genuinely looks as though a weed whacker was taken to it. My hair had thickness, length, and health before this appointment. Now it looks damaged, uneven, and lifeless. Yes, he refunded the haircut. But a refund does not give me my hair back. I would have gladly paid thousands of dollars to avoid this experience altogether. What makes this even worse is what happened afterward. When I left an honest review describing my experience, Allan attempted to pressure me into removing it. After I repeatedly requested that no video of me be posted, a video was uploaded anyway. Instead of showing any understanding for the damage caused, I received emails telling me I should be happy with the result. Imagine being told to be grateful after your hair has been completely destroyed. I have never written a review like this before. In fact, I rarely leave reviews at all. But I wake up every day frustrated and upset over what happened to my hair. Unless I spend significant time styling it, it looks terrible. If this review prevents even one person from experiencing what I did, then it is worth writing. I asked for a trim. What I received was a butchered, over-razored, mullet-like haircut that removed years of growth and density in a single appointment. Without question, the biggest hair regret of my life. I left a before photo and several after photos so people can judge for themselves. You can clearly see how badly my hair was butchered. Weeks later, every stylist who gives me a blowout asks why I have so many choppy, uneven pieces throughout my hair. I explain that Allan Parss aggressively razored my hair, leaving it uneven and difficult to work with. My hair is now so inconsistent in length that styling it has become a challenge. I went in for a simple trim with long layers and left with what can only be described as a mullet. The excessive razor cutting created short, disconnected pieces throughout my hair that will likely take a year or more to fully grow out. Imagine getting your hair cut short and it being unhealthy months later because a stylists razored the life out of your hair. I always get asked for beauty advice and I always say avoid this place to anyone I know. Added photos of the state of my hair about 3 months after Allan's hack job. Please don't let this man touch your hair.

I chose to have a stylist cut my hair yesterday. Honestly I thought the experience was going great…read more The lady who did my wash and dry was really nice and was fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English so my mom was chatting with her and everything, ok cool. Then the stylist comes. I believe his name was Jucci (guy with glasses and greyish hair). He asks what kind of cut I want. I told him I just wanted a trim, and showed him I only wanted it 2 inches shorter max. He immediately laughed and told me, that's not a haircut. It pretty much went downhill from that. If anyone wants a TL;DR, this guy was a dick. My mom was trying to chat with him, since my Mandarin is not that good, but then we realized he couldn't speak Mandarin that well. He was being a little prick about it already, like "LOL uhh.. I don't speak Mandarin that well either". Anyways, I ended up telling him I wanted layers, because my hair did originally have long layers. Then he asked me if I wanted it straight at the back or a v shape. I asked for a v shape, not really knowing he was going to chop off almost all of the hair I dyed a few months ago. Ok, fair enough it was a misunderstanding. My mom started looking over to check on me once in awhile, and this guy has the nerve to say "why does your mom keep doing that? It's pretty rude. Do you guys need to be getting somewhere? .. I'll just take my time then". Wow. I didn't really know what to say, this guy can't even respect his elders and will just say whatever is on his mind to his customers. I know I'm around his age but seriously? It got to the point where he finished cutting one side, and saying "If there is a problem, you guys can just leave, free of charge". At this point I also started checking on the length he cut, because I was pretty shocked at how much he was cutting off. He started freaking out at this point too "You asked for layers, I gave you layers!" as if he deserved so much respect for giving me the opportunity of a haircut. Seriously? At this point I just wanted to get out of there. I waited for him to finish the other side, but he was taking his sweet time as mentioned earlier. He literally took 45min to cut my hair, and continue to thin it. I don't mind long haircuts normally, but it started getting annoying to hear his petty comments. It was already too late when he decided he would only cut one side of my hair. Obviously I can't object and have the other side of my hair look ridiculous. In the end he gave me a bob haircut -- really short layers at the top and super thinned out at the back. This is not what I wanted. I know a lot of people can say that I should've brought in a picture or been more specific about what I wanted, but I think it was mostly this guy's horrible attitude that wants me to give this place a 1-star. For a $40 hair cut, you'd expect better service. Luckily, hair always grows back so I'm not too upset by it as of now. I don't think I'll be coming back again.

After visiting this salon my hair is now a shade of green and falling / extremely damaged…read more I unfortunately suffered the worst experience I have ever had with my hair with no resolution or care.

Very sorry to have to post this but clients who value their appearance should be informed…read more I have been to this salon for years and have a great colorist (Irina) and - up until last week - Sandra who was a great stylist at my previous visit. What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.

To say that I was hesitant is an under statement. At first I couldn't find the salon because it's actually called Jacobs hair salon. Long story short, I LOVED what Sara had done to my hair, exactly what I had asked for. I left super happy, I didn't want to write a review until I had been able to style my own hair.
