All equipment is regularly cleaned and he treats you like family. I highly recommend everyone to give him a call and schedule an appointment. So because I am from LA and particular about who I let cut my hair( my barber has been cutting my hair over 20 years) and there was only one brother who cut my hair when I came to NY. He wasn't available so Ed stepped up. He even gave me a razor shave and edge that I appreciated also his sense of detail and skills as a Master Barber. I walked in and spoke with Manny, but he only takes appointments. He said he needs a two-day notice. I ended up getting my haircut by their apprentice Webster. He did an outstanding job! He's only 19 years old, but he really knows what he's doing and does a very thorough job. They charge $14 for a haircut, which is reasonable.

I used to walk in and wait for him to become available. After the third time I visited him he gave me his number so I could text or call for availability. He does not reply to texts at all. One time I called him and made an appt and I showed up to find out that he had left early and wouldn't be back for a few hours. I got cut by another barber there that was ok but left me with a lot of razor burn. That barber was also difficult to schedule with the following visits. I decided to give Manuel another try since his cuts were so good, but the scheduling issue never improved. I had been trying to schedule with him over the past week. Texted several times and no answer. Called him several times during business hours and he responded once saying he would text back with availability - never received a text. Called again 5 times over the next 3 days at various times of the day and no response. I went in person again today and he didn't even acknowledge me. To reiterate - I have been going to this man for 2 years and I tip him $8-10 for a $20 cut depending on wait time and he doesn't even have the decency to be apologetic and give me availability for the coming days. I wish Manuel well because he is very skilled as a barber but this is no way to run a business. I would be willing to pay double for his cuts if he got his scheduling in order. I don't think this is a suitable place for any student or professional person who has to adhere to a schedule.
