I had been putting off my haircut for days and when I finally had the chance to get it cut on Monday, I found out that most barbers are closed Mondays. I had a week full of important meetings coming up and didn't want to look like a caveman, so I looked on Yelp desperately seeking someone close by that was actually open. I found Iliana's page and gave her a ring. I noticed she only takes appointments so I almost hesitated to call given it was close to midday. Luckily, she answered right away and told me she could fit me into her schedule within a couple hours. When I got there, Iliana was very friendly and attentive. She made me feel very at ease, despite me forgetting my contacts and not being able to watch the cut in progress. Once finished, I was happily surprised to see it was exactly the cut I wanted, and actually even better than I had hoped. I have very tight curls so it's hard finding someone who can cut my hair and do it well, but Iliana gave me an excellent cut despite it being my first time there. Did some yelping and found Iliana's shop which was opened on Monday with available spot for same day appointment and took the risk to try it out... She owns the small business and is very diligent with her work. She is also friendly and will work with you to get the style that you desire. We had recently just gone to Supercuts to get a simple fade for my boyfriends little brother which came out horrible. We were scrambling to find a open barber not realizing it was Sunday and most of them are closed. we passed by saw "BARBER" made a quick upturn and knocked on the door. They were closed. Oops! I've always had trouble communicating with previous barbers the style I wanted, even when I brought in pictures. Not so at Barber Queen. Illiana, is awesome and constantly communicated with me about what I wanted out of my cut and was good at checking in. I've never met any one so passion about their work! I've been to barbers before that are around $8-12 a cut, but I figured I would spend a little more money if I wanted a better cut. Iliana is a wonder barber! She even offered to wait for me when I wasn't sure where she was. I was a new client for me so, she didn't even know me. The great thing about Iliana was the customer experience that she provides was genuine. You could tell from her voice and if you had any reason of.... pause she put it to rest.
