0 stars if possible - Negligence and poor conduct. I specified very clearly, SEVERAL times I wanted to cut my waist length hair to chest length with a LONG wolfcut/shag for sharper appearance. Kat, the stylist decided to cut it to SHOULDER LENGTH for some reason - and that's just the longest layer. the shorter layers barely reach my chin/ears. This was YEARS of growth and monetary investment into my hair that was taken away negligently and a drastic change i was not prepared for ahead of the holiday season. The curtain bangs were UNEVEN and another stylist had to fix them for me. The conduct was poor at best; the stylist wanted to "shit talk" my partner, directly belittled him as he waited and referred to other clients and stylists as "bitches" to me, repeatedly. I wish the skill justified the audacity, but all she has managed to do is make me look like dora the explorer (with uneven bangs). shampoo and blowouts are add-ons, which I get is policy, but my stylist did not condition my hair after the shampoo. She left it nearly wet (which flared my sinuses) after the rushed shampoo. The wolf/shag cut is typically sharper - taking away so much length has left my hair more round. other staff were respectful, understanding, kind but still slightly defensive - I really wanted to like this place, but this has been the worst haircut of my life. read more

We read tons of reviews for all of the stylists at Bishops Santa Clara and made an appointment unassigned to any particular one. We got Kat What a ray of sunshine she is. She is totally my Tr1B3. She spoke kindly to my daughter getting the haircut and gave her suggestions. 45-mins later my daughter walked out with a haircut her teenage self loves so much. The vibe in this Bishops illustrates why the Cupertino one appears to be struggling. The moment you walk in, it is like a club atmosphere, with stylists' stations flanking the front desk and a cute lil dog in a Burberry-styled dress/skirt tottering about. The art work on display above every stylists' station adds a cool touch for each. And the Front Desk is splashed with celebrity photos pieced together scrapbook style. My son and I tried to identify each one so it's a fun talking point between geriatric millennial mother and Gen Z son waiting for Gen Alpha daughter's haircut. Glad I tried this place! I had went to a different salon the day prior and got my hair butchered and couldn't stomach paying another $120 so I decided to give this place a try. And I'm so glad I did! Theresa fixed and re-layered my hair and what I liked about her cutting technique was that she didn't use thinning shears to "blend her mistakes". She did a full scissor cut and when through areas that needed slight texturizing to remove weight in certain areas. She cut off another inch and it still looks long! I didn't have to go bob after all. Don't let the "cheap" pricing fool you, you should definitely give this place a try if you are looking for a decent classing haircut. I had a really frustrating experience at Bishops. The day before my appointment, they texted asking me to move my time, which I agreed to. When I arrived, I was then told they didn't have time for both a shampoo and cut, so I agreed to skip the shampoo. Once I sat down and showed the stylist the haircut I wanted, I was told they didn't have time to do it at all and I would need to come back another day. What bothered me most was how the situation was handled. A manager explained that I had booked the wrong service and that a skin fade takes more time, even though the skin fade service on their website is also listed as 30 minutes. I have been getting this type of haircut for years and did not need the style explained to me. The issue was not that they were running behind. That happens. The issue was that there was no ownership. After moving my appointment, shortening my service, and then not being able to do the cut, I would have appreciated a simple apology and an effort to make it right. I got my hair dyed here and it washed out in 1 week. I washed it twice before the color was basically completely gone. I went back to get it fixed and they still charged me full price even though I was originally told the color would last 20-30 washes. It doesn't look bad at all and I understand they had to use more dye, but paying $60 (pre-tip) for a service that didn't even last a week and then not even getting a discount to get it fixed is a bit ridiculous. Was also hoping to get a different color because I wasn't in love with the darker version of the same color that I got the first time, but the stylist wasn't open to anything else. Tina was beyond wonderful. She was extremely kind and helpful when deciding what to do with my hair she provided honest results with my Balayage I wanted to achieve. She constantly made sure i was comfortable and during the process and it was one of the best experiences I had. Her technique with the Balayage was flawless and it came out amazing and i'm beyond happy with it bc she knew i really don't come in as frequent as i should she blended that it require less maintenance on my end which i greatly appreciated. I also have curly hair, which makes me a bit nervous about haircuts, but Fran did a great job making sure my curls went with my cut! I found Bishop's Santa Clara online and decided to give them a try since I don't have a regular salon that I go to. When I walked in I was greeted by Tina who I had my appointment with. The salon itself was very clean and modern and had a relaxing vibe to it. We sat down and talked about what options I had and I went with her suggestion of baby lights. I came here to get a blowout, and instead I just got my hair blow dried. Not a blowout at all! It's was not what I wanted at all. It seemed to me like the guy had no idea how to do it. I have seen a few Bishop shops all over the Bay and headed to my local one in Santa Clara to change up my hair! From end-to-end, they properly took care of me from consultation to execution. My hair was done by the amazing Sara Perez! Saray made sure that I was comfortable the entire time, made sure that every choice they made was communicated, and that I was okay to proceed. I also have Natural Asian Black hair, but Sara was super confident in being able to get me to the light blonde I wanted. They worked with confidence and I had my full trust in them. I am more than happy that I contacted Bishops and had my hair done by Sara. More like a 3.5 in my book. I've seen Bishops in downtown Sunnyvale and noticed one opened in SCS. Making an appointment online was easy. I scheduled on the same day, an hour before coming in. I got a wash and cut 5 inches off of my hair. Price is $47 for a long cut and $39 for short cut. I liked the tea tree shampoo they used which was tingly and refreshing. The one thing that was uncomfortable was that shampoo/conditioner got in my ear and I could hear it bubbling up. I wiped it off myself after as soon as I got up. The stylist was nice and talkative, but he kept checking his phone so that was kinda weird. He would cut part of my hair and then go over to his phone. Usually at a salon, you're just in and out. This happened more than a few times so I asked if there was something he had to take care of to which he mentioned he was consulting with clients who couldn't come in. Overall, my visit was fine. On Tuesdays, they offer 30% off services from 11 am - 3 pm. Tbh I would've felt disappointed if I paid full price. read more

I was scheduled for an appointment on Friday, October 13th at 2pm. About an hour before the appointment they called to let me know that their previous appointment was going to go over and they wouldn't be able to serve me that day. Understandable. Things happen. My appointment provider asked if I was free for 2pm the following day, October 14th and I happily scheduled the appointment. The next day, today, I was sent a text message from them asking to move to 4. Understandable, they had gone over but at least they were serving me today. I responded to the text within 10 minutes of receiving it and even though it would only be a cut without the color I thought it would still be worth my time to come. After arriving at 4 o clock, I made my way into the shop to a surprised barber. He seemed to be the only one there and was serving another customer. I could tell he was wondering why I was in his shop. I showed him my text and he shrugged and told me that he was booked and that the person who texted me had already left for the day. Hahaha. What a waste of time. All this talk of a 20% discount and a sorry for the inconvenience and no follow ups just to have to head back home with my tail between my legs. What makes it worse is tonight is my birthday dinner and wanted to look good for the pictures. Oh well, it's hard to find hair appointments last minute at 4:30 on a Saturday. I hope whomever books here has a better experience than I did and strongly encourage you to book first appointment of the day if you do. I'm bothered with the lack of communication and disrespect by this shop and will happily reach out to other businesses in the future.
