I love Barbarossa. We come here every year when we go to Genova for our annual day trip of shopping from the town of Chiavari, one hour train ride to the east.
We make it a point to stop here for lunch. The location is awesome, in the middle of historical Genova, on the ramparts by one of the old doors to the city. It is a small place, but in the summer they have these outdoors booths (they may have them in the winter too, I don't know because I go here only in the summer), that can accommodate a relatively large party, maybe 6 or 7 people.
The menu is not big but has appetizers and entrees both seafood and not. They always have specials on the blackboard and the food is super yummy and fresh, at affordable prices.
Wine is local from the region of Liguria, and the service is friendly and swift. read more
