I'm posting this review for everyone who brings their things to be sold. I do shop here, but I've been very disturbed by their practices which seem to be industry-wide in our area but I will post individual reviews of other shops who participate in this fraudulent activity. When bringing my things into Barbara's resale, I receive a copy of a contract which I expect both parties to hold true to. However, after stopping in several times I realized that what they tell me when I drop off is that after the end of my contract I have, in effect, donated my items to the shop but that they will donate them to a worthy cause. I asked if I could just pick my things back up and donate them myself but they said no. When searching through the racks three, four, and five months after my contract ended, I realized that my items were still on the rack, although marked down. In essence, the shop continues to make a profit but I do not, nor do I get the write off for donating my items, nor do they donate them as I was advised they would. Following his photographic evidence showing that they keep the items that they want on the rack and continued to take the money against those. Now maybe they can refute this review by letting us all know that they are donating 100% of the proceeds of those sales to some non-profit but I will not hold my breath for them to verify that. I will update this post if the company contacts me and provides information showing that they had no intent to defraud the sellers. read more

I shopped at Barbara's Resale Shop LLC for years and have spent thousands of dollars there in the last several months. Yesterday I was treated unprofessionally and cheated out of over $200 and they misplaced several other items I was cosigning and explained it was not their problem that my items were missing and wouldn't help me find them. And they didn't offer to pay me and it was like pulling teeth for them to even tell me how many pieces were missing. I did explain that I would no longer be shopping there and that I would ensure that everyone I have recommended personally and in my inner circle knew about their bad business practices etc., and that I would no longer recommend shopping there or cosigning. The staff refused to give me the owner's full name. However, the owner thought it was a good plan to go to my employer's office and rant about what I said about no longer referring customers to her. Not sure what her point was, but it confirmed that all of her followers should know what a loose cannon she is. She had my full name, phone number and my $ from the cosigning contract I signed, but thought trying to tell my boss that I wouldn't recommend her store anymore was a reason to try and get me in trouble with my boss. Well, here it goes, I have shopped there and spent $2,076.76 for personal items for my daughter and I and $3,235.56 purchasing items for foster children in this past year. I will no longer do so because of the owner's hostility and refusal to even discuss the issues; I had yesterday, and then thought that because I complained as a shopper she would try and get me fired from my job. I have the absolute right to tell the community about her behavior and their ability to lose items and effectively steal from you. Barbara, you have no class or customer service, and this is why your business will not do well. I referred people to you weekly in person and all over Facebook when people asked about good places to go. After your behavior today and your staffs yesterday, your business is no longer on the referral list, and I will tell my story since you thought not providing customer service but trying to complain to my boss that I said I wouldn't be shopping or referring customers any longer was a stupid move and shows why no one should spend $ at your store. read more

They have a nice selection of items and I was able to find an item had had been searching for, for a while. The staff seemed pretty scarce. I had to go looking for someone to ring up my purchase. They brought the item to the door but wouldn't bring it outside. Luckily, I'm much stronger than the girl who worked there and got it to my car without issue. I'll likely go back, at some point, but not sure I'd go so far as to recommend it. read more

My sister and I are in the process of donating/selling/keeping to downsize our current home to a smaller space. As part of this process, I took several items to Barbara's Resale. Regardless of season or style, the shop does not accept women's size 4x. I asked before bringing them in and was told they accepted them. I brought them in and they were all denied based on their style. I then bought in another batch of women's 4x clothes. The majority of these were Eshakti dresses. They were bought for a 2022 trip that got cancelled so were new, with tags. All of the brand new, in style, size 4x dresses were denied. I had already noticed the lack of women plus sizes available for sale in the shop. As such, I thought the shop would welcome the addition of women size 2x, 3x, and 4x clothing. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Any woman will tell you that legging are an all-season garment. In Texas, the leggings you wear in the summer are the same leggings you wear throughout the rest of the year. I brought in 10 pairs of new and like-new size 18w/1x leggings. Every single pair was denied. I brought in 15 designer handbags. All of them were in pristine condition and included the duster bag. If I low-balled retail and priced each bag at $200 it would be $3,000. I automatically take a 50% depreciation so $1,500. Take another 50% off that because it's consignment so $750. Take off another $200 because that's just life. $500. $3,000 of designer handbags that I got to carry and enjoy and now someone else will do the same. Barbara's Resale is handling the transactions and has the brick & mortar. $500 seemed like a reasonable expectation. In addition to the handbags, I had taken in other items. Using the same depreciation logic as above, halfing twice then deducting 33%, I estimated the value of those items to be $200 which should have brought my total to $700. All of my items sold. I received $300. Consignment is not an easy thing to do. You have to sign in and wait for your name to be called. There are no appointments. There is only one couch in the whole shop. It can be a long wait. When your name is called you lug all your items in. Everything is on your hangers. The shop sorts between yes and no. You take back out the no's. You're taking a risk, too. You don't get your stuff back if it doesn't sell. The shop donates it. You don't ever know what was donated or where it was donated. And one more thing. If it happens to be raining, stay home. The shop does not accept consignment if it's raining. read more

I would like to warn others of this store! I am both a buyer and a consignor. I was treated badly because I asked too many questions about the consignment process. The owner keeps your clothes (that do not sell) and does not let you retrieve your unsold items. I asked for a print-out of what had sold of mine and she said she sent it to my email. Upon looking for the email, she was snippy at me and said she sent it 3x. However, I never received it. When purchasing items, I was not given a receipt because I did not ask for it. Really?? Customers have to ask for receipts? The store is a treasure- hunt, and you can find some neat things. However, the people are rude and inconsiderate. Customer service needs lots of WORK! read more

Absolutely horrible to mom's for some reason!! Employees speak horribly to people and apparently it's allowed because the owner does it too!! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where customers are appreciated!! read more

Brought in some items for consignment and received $62 payout so far! It's not much but the ease of dropping off items and swinging by to pick up earnings is 100% worth it! read more

I used to like this store but I recently felt incredibly taken advantage of and cheated. They had the bag I purchased in the 50% off bin... and then charged me full value. I asked the cashier about it and she blew me off. I thought the bag was cute so I bought it anyway.... I should have known better. Within 1 full day of just having my wallet and 2 small books in it it started having wholes in it. (I will add pics soon!) I'm just so disappointed bc they charge a little more for their items bc they claim to be of a higher quality but they really aren't. I suggest just checking out goodwill. Also they refused to even give me store credit. I thought they would since I have been a loyal customer but apparently that's not how they do business. Sad to say I'll never shop here again. I'm not sure what you are gaining in continuing on with it... especially in a review that you know obviously what exactly it does. I was super kind to you and Barbara ... even when you came back trying to let me know I made a mistake with your purchase when in fact it was all correct...I was still kind to you. I don't appreciate what you said about me and my character. If you seriously feel that way, then maybe you shouldn't return to my store. No hard feelings, just better for both of us. Thank you. First off if you gave a receipt that had the prices of the items I bought I wouldn't have to question what I was charged not just a total mostt customers do check receipts 2nd you act like you being nice is a chore instead of professional I think this proves my point!! I was so disappointed in this resale shop. I brought them like new working scrubs newly laundered and on a hanger which was turned away because they weren't Brand new! I know a lot of professionals would love to have them at a discount price, that is why I spent the time to bring them in for resale. They were very unfriendly and ugly to me. This place has great brands for great price I find lots of good items every time I go.

Clean and has a great variety of styles and clothing. Good dressing rooms and staff is sweet and helpful. Great prices.
