That is until you enter here and you feel like you are in a library. Like many other Hallmark stores this one feels way too crowded with weirdly set up displays. It is just, I don't know, maybe they should hire someone else to set up the displays. I know Hallmark likes to bank on the family store type of deal, but loosen the reigns there for a bit. The card stock is great for weddings and what not, but if you want to go funny, it is seriously lacking. In a pinch, it will do to fill the need for your obvious visit.

I selected two very fun but expensive Christmas greeting cards, one of which was a pop-up and the other of which played music and moved. I also bought "plain" regular greeting cards that were less expensive. The cashier who rung up my items asked me to joined Hallmark's rewards club, and I declined because I rarely shop at Hallmark. She then informed me that my box of greeting cards was part of a buy-one get-one promotion. I feel grateful that she told me about the promotion, so I could return to the aisle and pick up another box of greeting cards for free. At the same time, however, she had a bit of an attitude. She said, "You would have known about the sale if you had signed up!" Actually, the aisle had a sign that mentioned the sale, and I happened to overlook it. Anyway, at least I now own a couple dozen nice greeting cards to mail to family and friends for Christmas.

I especially like coming to this one because they have the full deal here right down to the cooler/freezer section. I in fact came here the other day to stock up on items for my work locker, got to have those snacks. Well organized, well stocked and always ready for whatever holiday comes next. It's a great location in a busy area. Unfortunately it is a target for cars to drive into. Yes, you did read that right. The most recent the vehicle made it about 2/3 of the way inside the store. Taking out a majority of the breakable items that people use to decorate with. As of right now, the front of the store has plywood and only the one door is in operation. All the shelves that were damaged are about to be replaced, so all the items that were on those shelves currently sit in shopping carts. Although there is no need to worry about future vehicular shopping as they have constructed barriers in the front of the store entry ways.

There are more and more items in here that are of the toy variety that are geared towards children than books. This is somehow surviving in this dying mall. But to be honest you rarely see anyone enter here. How is it surviving? Just how? I came in and looked through the selection they had and not much is worth grabbing. I like local history books, especially when it comes to Johnstown. Just wish that there was more offered here.

With the new update it appears that the space is larger and there is more merchandise to pick from including the furniture department. One of the nicest thing is that the doors at the front of the store actually work! The floors are even, the walls look clean and I really can't find a fault to this place that the company could be blamed for. With that being said, the only thing that is holding this place back is the fact that with Quaker State having their kitchen share a wall with this place makes for some interesting, hungry thoughts while shopping. Sometimes the smell is a little overpowering which could make for an unpleasant experience as well. Also the noise is still a factor that comes from nest door.

Things were easy to find and staff were pretty nice to work with. I made a quick stop to pick up some small items that I was in need of and knew they would carry. Checking out was quick and the lady at the register was very polite.
