I really wanted to know everything I possibly could and I was also looking for a little community as I was feeling very alone in those first weeks of pregnancy (and overwhelmed with what I didn't know). AND THESE CLASSES DELIVERED! My husband is also a knowledge seeker so when I told him these were the classes I wanted he was all in. We learned so much. We joke that he didn't just learn about the natural birth process he learned how to be my "daddy doula". We still enjoy talking to people about everything we learned and how to support each other and how to speak to your doctors or the hospital nurses. Even if you aren't considering a natural birth these classes should be taken by everyone expecting a baby. You learn about the body, you learn about the different stages of labor, how to prep your body and your mind. There is even a class on breastfeeding which was invaluable those first 3 days postpartum. Lia is also an amazing teacher. If I have another I would definitely also hire her as my doula. She is a person you want in your corner during birth.

So many times my friends were going to go "natural" but in the end they would give into the almighty needle. So I did a ton of research and I came to the conclusion that I was going to educate myself as much as I could and that I would hire a doula. My husband was very skeptical... His entire family laughed when I said I was going to try a natural birth. Their exact words "Why would you ever choose that?!!" So I dragged my reluctant husband to our 6 week Hypnobabies course. By the 3rd week he was fully on the natural train! He told me "I really think you can do this!" The class was great and I really loved how we bonded with the other couples!! Lorraine was our doula also and it was a great experience. From our interview to when our sweet baby girl came Lorraine was at our disposal. She kept me calm and focused during my birthing time/labor and at the end I faced some complications... Lorraine gave me the lowdown on what was going on and let me know that it was crunch time! Looking back it really was the perfect pep talk... I pushed the baby out in 3 contractions!! And believe it or not I was up and walking around 30 mins later! My husband looked more jacked up than I did, lol. I had such a positive experience with Lorraine on top of a great birthing experience. I would do everything all over again in a heartbeat!

She's all the good things you need/ want from a prenatal yoga teacher/ doula While she could not be with me in the delivery room she was with me through phone and text guiding me through. My husband and I couldn't have been more grateful. So in conclusion Francesca is a Unicorn! And I love her... but you'll find that out once you take her classes or have her as your doula

Her classes before I gave birth prepped my husband and I for birth and baby care, and she was just a text or phone call away during my early labor stage, where I had lots of questions about contractions and when to go to the hospital. Emily's greatest strength was in the delivery room! She made a sterile hospital room feel like a hotel room with lights, tropical scents, gentle massage, and encouraging words. She was so encouraging and helped me achieve my birth plan- vaginal birth with epidural! She explained doctor language, took priceless video and photos of the delivery, and answered many questions along the way! Then she taught me how to push and helped our sweet baby girl enter the world. She was also an incredible support to my husband. Now that our baby is two months old, Emily has come over a few times already to help us with sleep and feeding support. She is worth every penny and we are so thankful for her presence in our family's journey.

I interviewed 4 potential doulas before speaking to Emily and I immediately knew she was the one I wanted by myside. She stood out from the crowd. Her enthusiasm, confidence and knowledge secured my decision. I certainly do not think I could have had the birthing experience I did without her help. Emily followed through with everything we discussed and more prior to the L&D. She made me feel at ease and much less anxious about the process because she took the time to get to know me and my husband. She addressed our concerns and questions in a thoughtful and prepared manner. We never felt rushed but on the contrary it was apparent that Emily enjoyed the work that she did, her enthusiasm and sincerity was palpable. On the day of my L&D, she was very prepared she brought an organized travel suitcase and wore a fanny pack for easy access to supplies. She decorated the hospital's birthing room into a serene oasis that I will never forget. On the wall, she included positive birthing affirmations, dimmed the lights, installed led fairy and candle lights, made the room smell of my favorite essential oils and so much more! She was beyond supportive and encouraging. I relied on her for some of the most difficult parts of my labor and she always exceeded expectations. I can go on and on about what a marvelous doula Emily is but I think you get the picture :)

Most importantly, she has a shining, positive personality that truly lights up the room. Alix came to visit us twice before the due date to get to know us, help me create my birth plan, and teach my husband and me relaxation techniques to practice before labor. Those techniques turned out to be extremely helpful during labor. She was always very patient in answering all my questions and offered thoughtful insights that helped me better understand both labor and breastfeeding. During hours of active labor and the pushing stage, Alix was by my side the entire time, comforting me, talking me through each contraction, and reminding me that I was doing great and that every contraction meant I was one step closer to meeting my baby. With her positive mindset, breathing guidance, and massage, I was able to endure the pain and even reduce it. Without Alix's support, I truly believe I would have been in unbearable pain and likely chosen an epidural. When I was uncertain about the medical procedures suggested by the staff, Alix provided clear information that helped me make more informed decisions. Her presence made me feel empowered. She also captured precious videos and photos for us. Alix visited us several days after we returned from the hospital. She patiently answered all my questions about newborn care and breastfeeding, checked in on how I was doing and feeling, and observed a feeding to provide thoughtful feedback.
