We have used Barbara for our joint tax returns over the last three years. While the first two years went relatively smoothly, we recently discovered mistakes on both our 2024 and 2025 returns. Resolving these errors with her has been an incredibly frustrating experience. Communication has been a major issue; she frequently ignores our calls and emails, sometimes leaving us waiting for weeks without a reply. An issue she promised would take 20 to 30 minutes to fix remains unresolved. Barbara Doherty is a very professional n very experienced tax lawyer.. She is definitely worth your call!!!! State taxes had a lien on our account because we owe over close to $30k! The state had taken $3k and a month later took another $3k straight out of my account. Mind you I had talked to tons of people for help called offices for help on state taxes n they're answers were the same "Oh we don't deal with the state.." I had even asked our CPA and she didn't have an answer. A family friend who was supposedly talking to the state for our case had not done anything n that's how we ended up on the lien.. Barbara has assisted me twice now in terms of tax filings. The first experience was a week before the October extension filing deadline when I needed to file for a relative who passed away. Last-minute, I had to end the relationship I had with a previous preparer as they were not being honest. I reached out to Barbara on October 1st and she said she was willing to work with me for the October 15th filing deadline. The second experience was when I needed to file amendments for the earlier mentioned relative as well as myself.
