I have been coming to 1635 GM Dr. ever since it opened in the mid 1990s and the elevators have been terrible for all 3 decades. One of the two elevators is often out of service - ridiculously frequently. Additionally, the elevators are really slow-moving, further sapping efficiency. As such, when an elevator - yet again - goes on the blink, eliminating 50% of elevator capacity (when they really should have originally built 3 or more elevators), it's guaranteed that patients will be chronically late. For themselves, their staff and their patients, I urge APC and other buikding tenants to unify and demand the owner/management company do MUCH better than they have to date by replacing the terrible-from-the-start-but-getting-even-worse elevators. Bite the bullet with patients having to take alternate elevators for a week or so for the swap out, but replace the dysfunctional elevators now.

The physical site is gorgeous, parking is nearby (not free though) and it's metro accessible. It's clean, the staff are friendly and professional and they have an in-house lab which saves a trip to Lab Corp. Additionally, they now offer mental health services which is a nice bonus. If you need a prescription called in to your local pharmacy, you can request via their app or website. If you have a non-urgent issue and need advice, you can message a nurse or doctor for help. If you have an urgent (non-emergency) issue, you can usually get an appointment relatively quickly; scheduling through the app is very easy. The user interface is easy to navigate. Also, the staff don't try to "upsell" you in any way or pressure you to get an unnecessary vaccine or test. In closing, I highly recommend OneMedical. It's worth the annual fee (which isn't that pricey IMHO). There are locations throughout the country - and the network of providers at every location is superb.

The check-in personnel, the technician taking vitals, the doctor, the technician drawing blood. Every single person I interacted with was professional, accommodating, friendly, supportive. The doctor took her time with me - a 30 min appt turned into 45. I know that is unusual. The technician drawing blood was incredibly professional and fun to talk with. I will see how things proceed with questions, results, billing, etc, but I only have accolades to say about this experience.

And in 2024/2025 the practice is emphasizing cancellation fees seemingly no matter what (what if there are road closures or your child gets sick within 24 hours of your appointment) and early arrival regardless of online check in or it's considered a cancellation. So far they haven't been too late, but they have been late now and then and that could be for a number of reasons. The point is that things come up for both doctors and patients, and some of that warrants flexibility, which their policy administration doesn't reflect. There's a chance for the group to set themselves apart from others and they're missing it. Not surprising for the current culture, but even more important because of it.

And then a few hours later I am booked for an appointment in Georgia? I don't know what's going on with them but beware they are extremely shady. Also, a couple years ago they charged me almost $400 for a specialist visit when I literally just walked into the clinic for a basic injury and saw the first doctor available. I got a bill from my insurance months later demanding the remaining balance for the alleged specialist consultation (not covered) that never happened. I needed a new…read morepractice to get a physical at and these guys took me with a 1.5week wait to see the PA (the wait for the real doctors was almost 4 months..ouch! Note to self, schedule in advance!) I arrived a few minutes after my first appointment because I was in the wrong building (it's 3833, not 3033..oops). The front desk ladies were SUPER nice (which blew me away, normally doctor office front desk people are awful, or at least cold) and took my printed insurance card with no issue. They were having problems with their scanner so the forms I sent ahead of time weren't in the system, but no biggie, they gave me a new set and I filled them out fairly quickly (for once didn't need to fill out the huge insurance part, woo!). All in all, great front desk experience. They explained the ID card they gave me and how their portal system works too. Sweet I saw one of the PAs for a physical and she was super nice and really explanative of what she was recommending for me to treat allergies and what normal blood tests she was recommending. I had a couple of questions for her and she was good at taking her time explaining her answers. I like doctors that do that versus just telling you something and moving on..it allows me to process things and use the information to make my own decisions as well. She also let me know that she'd follow up with me if any of my bloodwork came back abnormal. I thought she was great, but I tend to prefer PAs/Nurse Practitioners regardless..same credentials, just better human skills I find. My normal blood work was drawn right in the room, which definitely beat the normal routine of returning to the waiting room and signing up and waiting all over again. The check out was the only thing where there was a slight hang up. They gave me the appointment details (WIN! I like having this stuff for my own records) and a copy of prescriptions requested. I asked the doctor for prescriptions for OTC drugs so that I could use my HSA (you can use HSA to pay for some OTCs, but you have to have a written prescription). I guess she just wrote an electronic script and when I asked the check out desk folks for a written one, they tried to dismiss me and tell me that they couldn't take care of it. I explained that the doctor was okay with writing the scripts, but they have to be in paper and with a signature for me to submit to HSA for reimbursement. The lady said she had never heard about that, but I insisted (don't want to get whacked $15 for an over-the-phone Rx fill). She finally went and talked to the PA and she happily wrote out the scripts for me. Overall, I had a really pleasant experience. I was nervous based on the reviews here, but they seem to be a bit more admin-y. I just want a doctor's office that is warm and easy to schedule with and can see me when I have the sniffles. This seems to be it for now.

I called trying to get an appointment with my primary care physician, but the nurse on the phone told me my doctor wasn't available that day, but offered to schedule me with a Nurse Practitioner at another location instead. What she deliberately left out was that this other location would bill the visit as urgent/emergency care, turning what should have been a standard $30 copay into a surprise $200+ bill. If they had been honest and transparent about the massive cost difference, I would have waited a day or two to see my regular doctor. Instead, they took advantage of my vulnerability and pain to quietly route me into an overpriced visit without my informed consent. When I reached out to billing and customer support to explain the lack of disclosure, they refused to help or take accountability. It is heartbreaking and deeply infuriating to realize that a healthcare provider you trusted for years views its patients as an ATM rather than people needing care. Beware of their deceptive scheduling tactics. They do not care about your well-being--only what they can extract from your wallet when you are at your most vulnerable. I am officially taking my care elsewhere.

She was very warm and friendly, looks at you when you're talking to her, smiles, answered all my questions, and did NOT make me feel rushed at all to get to the next patient. The health form to fill out is one page, very simple and hassle free. Despite the short information gathering process, you should have plenty of time to discuss any issues with her and get prompt and knowledgeable answers. After this first visit, I give her my recommendation, at least for a routine checkup.

After being denied that visit until 7/5 I communicated a need for longer steroid (previous one ran out) and a prescription for unexpired albuterol treatments, I'd like a hard copy of all my medical records as I'm choosing to switch medical care to a doctor that employs people who also care about patients. After the visit with my doctor on 6/27 and talking to her on the phone on 7/2 re: the two prescriptions needing to be called in, on BOTH occasions the CVS on Van Dorn didn't receive 2 of the 4 medicines after the in person office visit on 6/27 and didn't receive 1 of the 3 medicines prescribed after taking to the doctor on the phone 7/2. On 6/27 they called and get the latter two filled for me contacting the doctor. As of 7/5, the CVS still doesn't have the symbicort daily inhaler that Dr. Cusicanqui told me she'd be calling in. When following up after calling the office, I was told that CVS should have told me it wasn't covered and a different one was. He claimed to have no idea nor did he volunteer to reach out to my doctor. To clarify, I called the CVS while on the phone with the office manager and he hung up on me as I tried to get them both on the line. Shortly after CVS called with me on the line and the same office manager relayed my doctor called in another inhaler without my permission or explaining the difference to me. The CVS pharmacist relayed they are not the same as the symbicort is to open up the lungs while the other is only a steroid. I have serious concerns as to why I was lied to by the office staff person 7/5 and why BOTH on 7/2 and 7/5 I was told that I need to wait to hear back from the doctor for 48 hrs after still being sick from a prior visit. I'm still bewildered by This uncharacteristic treatment from this office but, concerned enough to find a new doctor where the office is helpful, honest and compliant."
