As one of the largest malls in the Philippines, SM City Clark has tons of shops and restaurants…read more There's a huge selection of eateries to choose from but I was sold on Gerry's Grill when I saw they had what they call "Juniors." Juniors are basically smaller portions and entrees that start at 215 Philippines Pesos or $3.64. I love this concept because it definitely allowed us to order a variety without having too much. Smaller portions at affordable price to share but more variety for the win! We chose to get Lechon Kare Kare, Tortang Talong and Pancit Palabok. For about $3-$4 the small portions were actually pretty big and quite sufficient for two people. I tried the Lechon Kare Kare first. The Lechon was perfectly crisp. I enjoyed that crunch. They gave lots of the Kare Kare broth which was perfect over white rice. I loved how much broth there was but I was disappointed with the taste. I couldn't really taste the peanut butter flavor. The dish was a bit on the bland side. On the opposite side was the Pancit Palabok. It wasn't bland but unfortunately they put too much salt and it was salty! I enjoyed the long silky noodles and eggs but the flavoring was just off for this. The Tortang Talong or eggplant omelette dish ended up being the best dish. Tortang Talong has always been one of my favorite Filipino dishes and I'm happy to say they did a good job with this dish. I loved that they even added some ground meat inside the omelette. Overall Gerry's Grill was ok. Price wise was a win- it was about $17 for 3 dishes and white rice. Tastewise however I only liked the Tortang Talong.

Obviously... when in the Philippines, you have to try the fast food staple. Jollibees ARE…read moreEVERYWHERE! Enter Jollibee. Primarily fried chicken and spaghetti. I didn't have the spaghetti... spaghetti has always been a weird fast food for me; Even at the sit-downs here in America. The chicken on the other hand... was delicious. Both the regular and the spicy. The spicy didn't have much of a kick but it was enough to give you some flavor. The only thing that could be improved at Jollibee is the sauce. You can get gravy for your chicken or the burger steaks they have but as far as I could tell, they don't have any type of sauce for the chicken. I had sauces at other restaurants... maybe the gravy here is just that good. I'm honestly just not a gravy person. I'd love to have some honey mustard or sweet and sour sauce. Even if just vinegar was available for dipping... *drools*. One other menu highlight is the peach-mango pies. Much like a Mcdo's Apple pie but with peach and mango inside. So good that I brought two with me on the plane ride back. What a delicious snack hot and cold! I do wish I could've tried the Buko pies but the locations I visited didn't have them. The chicken is easily better than KFC(also located throughout the Philippines). I think there are 2 or 3 Jollibees in America now. I hope they take over America too. This specific location was always busy. I used it for eating and as a spot for ATM withdrawals. The ATM here is kind of tucked away so there's not much worry about prying eyes. This is a busy location. People fill the tables. There are always trikes outside too so no worries about catching a ride after you've stuffed yourself. On my next visit, I hope to try their other menu items. I'm sitting here right now wishing I could order chickenjoy and rice for delivery... *drools*.

Food is standard Jollibee fare, our favs are: - Garlic rice - served only during breakfast BOO! - Spicy Chickenjoy (fried chicken) - (deep fried)Peach Mango pie Food comes out fast and hot. Washrooms are clean except for the toilets seats, guess they didn't see the "no standing on the seat" sign. Environmentally aware with an air dryer for your hands and a no straw policy. Conveniently located across from the Bayanihan/Main Gate terminal, and walking distance from SM City Clark and Fields Walking Street.
