Obviously... when in the Philippines, you have to try the fast food staple. Jollibees ARE EVERYWHERE!
Enter Jollibee. Primarily fried chicken and spaghetti. I didn't have the spaghetti... spaghetti has always been a weird fast food for me; Even at the sit-downs here in America.
The chicken on the other hand... was delicious. Both the regular and the spicy. The spicy didn't have much of a kick but it was enough to give you some flavor. The only thing that could be improved at Jollibee is the sauce. You can get gravy for your chicken or the burger steaks they have but as far as I could tell, they don't have any type of sauce for the chicken. I had sauces at other restaurants... maybe the gravy here is just that good. I'm honestly just not a gravy person. I'd love to have some honey mustard or sweet and sour sauce. Even if just vinegar was available for dipping... *drools*.
One other menu highlight is the peach-mango pies. Much like a Mcdo's Apple pie but with peach and mango inside. So good that I brought two with me on the plane ride back. What a delicious snack hot and cold! I do wish I could've tried the Buko pies but the locations I visited didn't have them.
The chicken is easily better than KFC(also located throughout the Philippines). I think there are 2 or 3 Jollibees in America now. I hope they take over America too.
This specific location was always busy. I used it for eating and as a spot for ATM withdrawals. The ATM here is kind of tucked away so there's not much worry about prying eyes. This is a busy location. People fill the tables. There are always trikes outside too so no worries about catching a ride after you've stuffed yourself.
On my next visit, I hope to try their other menu items. I'm sitting here right now wishing I could order chickenjoy and rice for delivery... *drools*. read more
