This place lived up to its status! Service, food and ambiance - everything up to the mark!…read more The decor here is so different - high ceilings with traditional chandeliers added to the charm. Homely and beautiful! I loved the bread here, ofcourse it came with olives and some sun dried tomatoes - this itself was such a great start. I got the radish salad which was simple and nice along with some app - can't remember the name but that was pretty tasty. For mains I got the risotto and husband got the white fish - both amazing! Finished the meal with some ricotta dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. I'm not a ricotta person but i highly recommend the dessert. On our way out we even got some pasta to take home and some marmalades. Highly recommend this place - I'm a fan!

Traditional casual Sicilian restaurant in central Catania that was a short walk from my hotel…read more Great service and most servers can help in English. They also have menus in English which if you are not a native Italian speaker, I recommend as they have some interesting items on the menu you may not want to mix up. I asked the waiter to help me select and enjoyed a pasta with sardines, tomatoes and pistachios €12. Epic! The main was pork stuffed with white local cheese and pistachio paste €14. Again, epic! Paired with the excellent local rioja €7, so good. No room for desert but I would put money down it was good. This is a very nice restaurant. Only thing I didn't like is several donkey plates on the menu. I love horses so not my thing. Apparently very traditional to eat horse or donkey on the island. With the Mediterranean Sea walking distance, I would have thought more seafood, less donkey.

Walk up a hidden little alley off a main road and you'll find Donna Fortunata, one of the most…read morepopular and best-tasting restaurants in Motta Sant'Anastasia. The food is of high-quality, the service is excellent, and the interior is quaintly comforting. By the layout, you can tell this restaurant was converted from multiple old buildings and rooms that were connected together to form this establishment. In the back, you sit "outside" where there are 4 walls around you, but no roof. It was pleasant to sit back there in the evening with a cool breeze as long as you don't mind the occasional bug flying around (not a bad thing, just adds to the unique ambiance). If you're thinking pizza, I highly recommend ordering their namesake pizza, the Donna Fortunata. This wondrous concoction consists of smoked cheese, tomato cherry, mozzarella cheese, bacon, oil. The edge stuffed with tuma and olive paste. Yes, get this! If you like surprises, maybe get this one: "Fantasia Del Pizzaiolo: ?????????" Everything we had here was delicious and 100% picture-worthy. The mussel dish we ordered was unforgettable. It was a ton of mussels bathing in a flavorful tomato-based broth and a thin bread was baked over the whole thing. Dip the bread in your broth for a good time. The Cuttlefish Ink Pasta was interesting/tasty but wouldn't order it again unless it was pitch black like the picture. So if you're looking for real local flavor in a nice little Sicilian town, Donna Fortunata (Lucky Lady) is a gem you shouldn't miss out on.

I also recommend getting the wide egg noodle dish (Pappardelle Dello Chef)--it's creamy and tasty. Our whole spread of food, drinks, and dessert was not expensive at all so we were happy about that. While Motta Sant'Anastasia is a sleepy town, they still got some good eateries and Valentino is definitely one of them.

The staff are always wonderful and greet you with bright smiles as soon as you walk in. This was the first place we stopped when coming in after a LONG two days of traveling and bright smiles were definitely what we needed to see lol. The first thing I had to get used to was that all the restaurants (unless you want to eat panini n pizza every day) open around 5-6pm. There is practically NOTHING decent open before that! People here eat MUCH later! When we arrived around 630 we were one of the only families there, we left about 8 and it was STARTING to fill up!! We've been here twice while here. The first time I didn't get pictures but the second time I got a couple shots of the two AMAZING dishes we had. Pappardelle with a garlic sauce and muscles n clams, and a Veal dish with Mushroom cream sauce. I sopped up this rich mushroom sauce with their delicious bread!! I also highly recommend the sautéed spinach (tho if you aren't used to so much oil on your food ask them Not to put it on after they cook it!) Also recommend the mixed grilled seafood plate. The seafood here is Very Fresh!! Love you guys!! We'll be back in October!
