Despite the long line and higher prices, Gelateria Dondoli remains a must-visit destination. We came to Florence on a cruise and probably one of the hotter days of this year. We showed up at Vivoli and clearly the Tik Tok went viral, because it was very crowded. We waited in line and it moved rather quickly. We debated on ordered the regular and the pistacchio, but decided to go with the regular affogato. Upon ordering and entering the establishment, it gave off the cutest old time coffee shop vibe. The staff was working diligently to process orders. We watched this well-oiled machine of a staff for several minutes while they passed out 10-15 affogatos within 30 seconds. We sat on the curb and enjoyed ours in the glass cups they gave us. This was a highlight for us. The creamy gelato with espresso on the spoon was perfect for a hot day. I hope this business continues to thrive and I look forward to recommending it to everyone I know heading to Florence.
