Brilliant place if you love table football! Probably annoying if you don't as this bar is full of them! Had an excellent time here, played tons of games - what a way to spend a sunday! I love me some Foosball. I really do. I even had a Foosball table at my wedding reception. One time, at Christmas, my brother got a small Foosball table which was played until the legs fell off. True story actually. I was winning that game too... It is just another bar with a pathetic toilet facility and average but by no means limited selection of bottled beers. The decor gives off a nice relaxed vibe and the furniture has that nice weathered and beaten look that is comfortable to lounge around in drinking a Budvar explaining to people about the difference between Czech Budweiser and American Budweiser before realising that they don't really care and probably aren't even listening. So yes, a good and friendly but by no means great bar. Not much to make it stand out in a place like Shoreditch, indeed. They do have those Foosball tables though. Oh yeah. Nothing stirs the atmosphere like beer and some friendly competition and little men pierced through the torso and forced to stay in line seems to be the perfect way to fan that competitive blaze. Just get some tokens from the bar and wait for a free spot by scouting out the talent. I have a friend who likes to beat me at everything we do. And when I say like, I mean that it seems to be one of his overriding life purposes. So it is extra satisfying to know that I can completely dominate him on the green field of little plastic men dreams and that he has no chance but is forced to try over and over in the vague hope of snatching some self respect. Not on my watch, pedro. So yes, if you are good at Foosball, take along some friends and embarrass them. I do! Don't feel petty, that is loser talk. There is also another place which I would assume is owned by the same mob called cafe kick which is up in Farringdon. It is much smaller and crowded but has a buzz about it on match day. See if you recognise all the scarves on the wall but look out for the suspicious Italian with wrists like a bullwhip. Hhhm interesting - the crowd is older than us and rowdy - pretty multi-cultural, loud italians and spanish. Not sure if they are going for shoreditch trendy bar or lad's football bar, and it falls somewhere inbetween. It also tries to be a cocktail bar and quite arty as well. It was a sat night to be fair so I was repeatedly elbowed and it was rammed. Drinks prices expensive. No-one sttractive or stylish to be honest. I'd say this is more of a chilled mid-week sit outside type place. The little table cloths and flowers are cute, the food also way over-priced to really eat here much. Deinitley style over substance. Bar Kick is a great place to be. Went there on a Friday after work with my colleagues. We booked a table and a table football for two hours and it was great fun! On the plus there is happy hours from 4 to 7 pm and cocktail ( great cocktails - not the icy watery type of Happy Hours) for less then a fiver. read more

Subjective Fact #1: On Tuesday nights in the downstairs area they have a banjo / ukulele sing along which provides unlimited oldies tunes and a free live concert to enjoy while you sip your beer. Love Kick, not least because of the design of their menu's that i endeavour to steal every time i go in there. The best thing about it is the fact that it has huge screens for you to watch the footie, although arrive EARLY for big games as the place fills up really fast. They have every changing 'beer of the week' which is on offer (usually 2 for 1) so that means cheaper boozing! They also have amazing table football, and host tournaments so you can take over the place with your friends and go nuts! The decor is American diner like and pretty funky, and the heated (yet limited) outdoor seating means you can't walk past the place without being tempted to pop in and have a drink. read more

I like the looks of the Kick. It is very Spanish, bit messy and colorful. But I always loose my temper with the sports..I am not a sport person, I don't follow it and I know nothing about it. I went to Bar Kick on Monday to see a friend perform in Chuckle Duster an improvised comedy sketch show held on the last Monday of each month (downstairs). The standard of comedy was actually good and I was impressed (I'm usually sceptical of amateur comedy nights). The 6 performers had good chemistry with each other and had clearly put time and effort into the show. There was good audience participation, but that may have been helped by the fact there was a good number of friends in the audience (at one point the audience had to shout out quirks for the performers choice suggestions were 'he's ugly' and 'she has 2 vaginas'). Overall it was a good night and the £3 entry is about right to entice new comers in. The night could be improved if the downstairs bar was open and even more so if they extended the happy hour drink prices during the show. read more

On shoreditch high st, stumbled into this bar in the early eve of a saturday & it was already fairly crowded with an easy going young student type crowd....seemed to have a basement level but this section wasn't open. Had a lot of young men teeming about playing foosball - with these tables taking up half a length of the wall, opposite the bar. Had a ramshakle, scruffy & easy going vibe, don't know what it's like later in the night, but if you're looking for more glam surroundings - this isn't it! read more

This is potentially a decent place but badly let down by several things. 1. They reserve basically all the tables, so even if you go and most of the tables are empty, you can't get a seat. I repeat you cannot get a seat in this bar. It gets extremely full but they block off big areas of the bar for "pre-booked" reservations. So it's less like a bar and more like some kind of annoying club. 2. The staff are surly. Really, they look right down their noses at you and act like they're doing you a favour just by deigning to serve you. And while it's great that London is such a cosmopolitan city, staff really ought to have a decent enough grasp of English that they don't get your drinks order wrong three times. My son Jonah and I stopped off for a late lunch. Very fine. Great decor. Lovely freshly squeezed orange juice, a bottle of Estrella and two excellent sandwiches - big but delicious portions with a really good salad. This was a breath of unfresh air... In this age of corners and open-plan anti-clutterphobes we have ourselves a lovely little place... and it shows the footy. nice atmosphere and great array of people, met a dude i'm sure I had chucked out of a bar when I was at Uni... we was cool. nothing went with anything else and covered a wide array of people. I had loads of Football regalia but as I was with Ladies I didn't mention it, but had the old lazy eye on the game and the other invested heavily in the conversation. "Happy Hour you say!!!?? £2 for a Sagres? nice... I might stay here". The food looked nice and the table footy looked like fun, nothing went together and the place was tidily a mess, with an essence of spanish-tapas... none of the chairs matched and I loved every minute I was there... Stopped here for lunch today, the food was amazingly tasty and wholesome and very reasonably priced. Staff helpfully answered all our queries about vegan dishes and the quality of food way surpassed expectations. The staff were super friendly and are clearly happy in their work; that and the great decor and of course the table football (not that we played) make for a great relaxed atmosphere, (I gather it can get pretty busy at nighttime here but lunch was very laid back affair).Highly recommended. read more

When I was living in New York, my friend Michaela was constantly scheming on where to find single dudes. "Sports bars, Michaela, they go to sports bars" was my refrain, but she insisted she wanted a "different type of man" so I was constantly accompanying her on fool's errands to brunch in the Village. Anyway, apparently Kick is a sports bar. I didn't realize it, because I am pretty oblivious, but also because I was drawn in by very affordable tapas and fresh squeezed juice. It suddenly dawned on me that I was surrounded by hot dudes, alone and in pairs, because they were watching football on a massive screen. Has this place finally found the divine recipe for a nightspot - sporty entertainment for unreformed (but, again I stress, extremely FIT) dudes, and slightly posh nibbles for foodie women?
