I am slightly confused by all the negative reviews for this place! I thought it was brilliant! Man Cave joy: The first floor is like a giant man-cave...although it is located upstairs so I guess that counts as a man attic!? They have racing games, loads of ping pong tables and arcade games that are projected onto a large screen (so you can watch as your friends as they battle whichever 90s game they are attempting!) Other good bits: - Their G&Ts are lovely - They have a really good selection of ales and stouts (this made my husband happy) - There were lots of cute hipster boys with beards in the man cave - We wandered in during a pub quiz, and they had lots of posters up for other fun sounding events. - I saw people eating yummy-looking pizzas. read more

After finally going here after wanting to come here for quite some time, I'm happy to say that it's a pretty good place to have a drink AND play some classic arcade games. Personally, I love arcade games, and The Four Thieves doesn't disappoint. It also has a unique racing game, the Moonshine Raceway; where you race toy cars on a race track, with commentary in the background. My only problem is that the drinks are a bit pricey. For example, a Heineken is £4.95. Overall, this is a place that any arcade or pub enthusiast should visit. read more

Oh dear... I am upset. I used to be in love with place. Not only do they have a great escape room (Lady Chasity - you should do it) and a great comedy night (laugh train home). It just had an overall good vibe. Tonight I came with a friend around 9pm for a couple of night tipples and it just really wasn't the same. I ordered my drinks and it took the bar tender a good 10 minutes to serve me 2 wines because his priorities were elsewhere - ordering other people around with no priority. Literally, he was waving me card, my wine and everything else around without actually serving me my drinks. Not only this but the music was literally offensive. There was one song in particular that literally had screams in it. It was horrendous. We'd already been shouting at each other to talk but to hear screams through the microphones and have to stop talking due to the awful noise was ridiculous. I do still like this pub because of the nights it shares and I really like the beer garden but after tonight I'm not sure I'd choose to come back for a casual one or even an evening out. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday on a Monday night, and even then it had a fun, lively vibe. It's quite a different venue as far as pubs go, as there is a big hall on the ground floor where I believe they run swing dance nights, as well as other evening classes, and upstairs is an arcade/games room which had quite a Brighton Pier feel to it! The staff were super friendly and given that it was a Monday night we were able to avail ourselves on the 2 for 1 burger deal too.... Really good though I may be biased as my friend ordered one and didn't realise they were 2 for 1 so I ended up getting it for free! read more

if you want to kill some time - this might be the right place for you. actually a pub with a huge arcade upstairs! flippers, mini-golf, table football and a huge race car area! you need to try this out - it's amazing!! escape room on the second floor - book in advance! it was brilliant! downstairs is a huge pub - I really liked the flair! food was not that great though and very expensive (therefore only 4 stars). This is a great pub. It is situated in South London. If you love music, drinks, outside area and games then this is the pub for you. Downstairs is where the pub, bars, restaurant and music area. The music was great that was playing when we was their on Sunday around 3pm. However in evening around 5pm - 8pm there was no music which was a bit disappointing. We also ate here at the Four Thieves for Sunday lunch and unfortunately I was highly disappointed. We all ordered at same time from bar but we all ended up getting our meals at different times. The menu is misleading as well as stated a leg of lamb however I did not get a leg of lamb instead I got about three slices of lamb on my plate with a very flat Yorkshire pudding more like a pancake. The gravy was thick though which was nice but maybe slightly salty. Also the food was not piping hot quite luke warm however I was so hungry I just ate it. One of my friends also ordered lamb when she got hers I had finished mine already. She was also not pleased with hers so she had hers swapped with chicken which I must admit was a lot better and I wish I had done what she done but as I mentioned before I was too hungry. But even though her chicken was nice again the chicken was not half a chicken as stated on menu and she never got a breast of chicken. So misleading again the menu. Because the meal was not that great I did not order any dessert not did anyone else. Also the waitress we had was not very nice as she did not smile at all and seemed quite moody. However the waitor that came out later he was much better very pleasant and smiley. Mid way up the stairs is where the door into Lady Chasitys lair lies which is great and so different to any other escape room I have ever played. Check out Handmade Mysteries for my review on this. Upstairs is where the fun lies from arcade games, golf, pinball machines, radio controlled car racing, fun photobooth (animated), ping pong table, football table, even a cinema screen. I really enjoyed playing upstairs with my friends. However if you play the golf beaware of hole 6 as its quite tricky and our golf ball whenever any of us hit it kept going everywhere. I managed to nearly loose mine several times whilst trying to do that hole in the fake plants around course and one of my other friends nearly hit a man in his face with her off flying golf ball was so funny but I don't think the man was amused he said to her "its not baseball" but seriously everyone hole 6 is a nightmare. You also have to do the radio controlled racing its great and only costs £3 (for 15 laps) or £10 to go on as many times as you like for whole night. I could not drive my car very well at all I was going backwards, side ways, crashing, stalling etc but then I am hopeless with anything to do with cars. Jason won over all of us was so fun. Saying all the above would I go back I would totally would go back to that pub for the games room upstairs and bar area with live music but NOT for the food. read more

My friends and I went here for a night out and I was blown away by how much fun I had. Several different floors offer a variety of vibes; my favorite in particular was of course the upstairs, where they have ski ball, crazy golf, and a whole host of fun games to play. The people who work here were so nice as well. I feel like The Four Thieves is a one of a kind British style Dave n Busters. We had such a lovely time! A place like this brings out the best in people. read more

A totally great Pub located in South London not far from Clapham Junction, If you like Live Music, drinks and games then this is the place for you!. Downstairs has the main bar along with a garden to sit out in on nice days, they also do food which was nice (I had the Roast Pork which was very nice). Upstairs is another world that is great like going into another completely different atmosphere! this has a 9 hole mini golf course, classic arcade games, photo booths, table tennis, pinball machines and a large projector showing films but what I loved most was the mini radio controlled car course as you can see in my pictures, it costs £3 per person for 15 laps of total fun and mayhem! I felt like a big kid again! seriously though if you are in South London and want a great afternoons entertainment and fun then look no further than the Four Thieves!!! read more

We came here to watch the rugby and arrived very late, so unsurprisingly couldn't get into either of the rooms with screens as they had a '1 in 1 out' policy. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the result of the match probably would have been a night-runier... This is a really big bar, with lots of seating inside and outside. The drinks are reasonable for the area, and although it did take me a little while to get served it was quite busy (and due to a height defect it usually takes a while for bar staff to see me...) We had intended to come for a couple of hours then more on the The Grand, but we ended up staying until 3am drinking Jagerbombs by the giant scalextric set upstairs. We only went to the upstairs room, which is like a hidden arcade for adults! It feels a lot like a playroom in the attic - pinball machines, ping pong tables, a foosball table and streetfighter games projected onto the wall. There are also some video games like time crisis and sega racing. But the main event is the racecourse built in the middle of the room, with ten motorized cars controlled by ten players, all sitting in a row against the wall. It's loads of fun, and a great place to come with a group or on a date. I wish there were a few more video game options available, but it's still a novel way to spend a few hours (and lose a lot of change). read more

The garden has some trippy green lighting and is one of the smokiest (from patrons, not BBQ or the like) outdoor spaces I've encountered in London. Overall, it's a fun spot! read more

As a venue it's good, but unfortunately some of the staff, mainly the DJ for the bottom floor music, need to pay attention to manners and consumers request. It ruined our evening - the DJ was aggressive when asked about music type/genre, and said security would be called if we didn't walk away. My friends and I visited this bar because of a search we did of best bars in london. We arrived at a little past 1400 and were told the game room didn't open until seven. Not a big deal, we sat at a table and decided to get some food and drink to kill the hour. When I asked the bartender for a food menu I was told "no food today, we have a private party and the chef is too lazy to make food for the bar". I found that odd but what ever, so I asked my friend what she wanted and she said a coffee. The bartender seemed bothered by the request so I asked him if there was no more coffee it was fine. He replied "we do have coffee, but it's a pain in the ass to make". Who says that to a paying customer? I ordered a beer instead and when I asked to start a tab once again the bartender was bothered. If it wasn't for the game room we would have just left the drinks on the table and walked out. Speaking of walking, that's about all I saw the chefs doings out on the floor instead of being in the kitchen making food for people willing to pay for it. I've never written a yelp before, but the experience I had at the bar deemed it worthy. Such a shame that some bartender is driving money away. read more

As our local pub myself and my housemates love this place. Drinks prices are decent and their comedy nights are great value for money. We've been to a couple of their Laugh Train Home nights and one of them was noticeably better than the other but I guess some comedians are just better than others! We had pizzas for a fiver each which they were tasty and good quality. It's a cool place also with a great beer garden. Would recommend! read more

Seriously bad, avoid. We booked an area for 20ppl from 7:30 for a birthday party. Turned up, to have no table, had to wait 40 minutes for the staff to kick people off a table for 8ppl which they offered us. By 8:30, there was a massive queue outside so half of our friends waited an hour to get in, some longer. We spoke to the manager to which he said, sorry I can't do anything about it. We came here around 9 pm to meet some friends and had so much fun. The drinks we reasonably priced, and the games they have are cheap and a lot of fun. We spent our entire night on the top floor with all of the games - the car racing is awesome! Highly recommend for a neat/different night out at a pub! read more

I have been here a few time and still like it. Has a nice feel to it. I like the games on the first floor. I have enjoyed a good laugh while playing ping pong. My friend love the car reacing. I am not impresed with food but the rest makes up for it. read more

We couldn't be more impressed with the Four Thieves after their impeccable customer service last night. After being asked to leave a neighbouring establishment (The Sugar Cane Bar) because one of our party had a Guide Dog (Fathom), we were welcomed into the Four Thieves where staff treated us like VIPs, making sure our friend and his dog had a comfortable quiet place to sit, space for Fathom, and a table for the evening. The bouncers cleared space in the crowd for our friend to pass easily to the bar and outside, and were friendly and respectful at all times, being very aware of our needs and making sure we were well looked after. I was so impressed with the friendliness of all the staff that we are already planning several return visits. Many thanks especially to Nathan and his team for their help.
