We loved our visit to Bar Comida! Delicious house drinks and fantastic entrees - very vegetarian friendly. Only complaint is that the table service was pretty poor and it took forever for us to get/pay our check. Otherwise, highly recommend!

The food here is very good. Servers friendly and sangria tasty. We rarely visit the same restaurant twice and have in this case. Oh.... and their stone fire pizza is half price on wed. 'Nuff said.

Walking in to this restaurant reminded me of walking in to a Chevy's - it's a similar atmosphere. They have a menu that is filled with half drinks and half food. I ordered a classic margarita and a veggie burrito without cheese and without sour cream (I'm vegan). They were really accommodating on my order and it all came out correctly. My friend ordered the veggie fajitas and hers looked so good. My boyfriend, who was with us, ordered a chicken quesadilla, and he liked it. We had asked for chips and salsa when we ordered, but the waiter forgot to bring them out until after our food. The food came out super quick, so it wasn't a problem. When I ate one of the chips, I realized we were not in California any more. They tasted like packaged chips and the salsa tasted like Pace salsa. Not quite what I'm used to, but after some travel abroad I've come to realize that we are spoiled for Mexican food in California. The drinks were mediocre. I could barely taste alcohol in mine, which was surprising as I rarely drink hard alcohol so I thought I would be able to taste it right away. Maybe I'm just used to strong drinks ;) I wasn't particularly impressed with anything about this place but I was very happy to be in a Mexican restaurant that offered burritos and real Mexican food. The food came out as we ordered it and the burrito was good. I ate the whole thing! All in all, it wasn't a particularly memorable experience, but the food was good and came out quick.

They have a huge range of very delicious drinks, and if you go there a tip for the girls order the El Torero margarita :P (picture below) Their $16 nachos are huge but not so much the best I've had, they add too much jalapenos in my opinion but everyone has their own different taste buds. If you like spicy then it's definitely for you! ;) As for my favourite dish it's the Eye Fillet with sweet (Kumra) potatoe and salsa from the Grill Menu. The atmosphere is amazing! They have amazing lizards in a tank which is a must see, especially when they wear lil sombrero hats! And if you have children they will let them hold the lizards, very cute! Hahaha! Speaking of sombreros they have a variety of beautifully designed sombreros which they let you to wear, just don't be afraid to ask the staff if they could give them to you. They're very fun and awesome for photos! Makes the atmosphere even better :D Only critique that I do have is that due to how overly busy they are, and always trying to fit everyone in, it feels like a rush to eat and leave. Especially during night times. The last time me and my boyfriend went there, we didn't even finish our meals and they took our plates away in such a rush that it was quite surprising. It all happened so quickly neither of us had the time to act. It was disapointing because the meal was so delicious we didn't have time to enjoy it or finish it :( But definitely try it out, and before you go make sure you make a booking otherwise it will get chaotic!

The entrance is tucked away on Tamaki Drive so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. While a few menu changes have happened over the course of my visits, they've kept to their roots and just continued to improve on an already great menu. I'm a big lover of their Attic tasting plate- if you're a first timer this is a great way to get a bit of everything at a fraction of the price. I enjoy places that cater for drinks and nibbles as well as a full dinner meal, and The Attic executes both of these quite well. There's plenty of seating available, from outdoor tables and stools to warm fireside couches- so no matter the occasion, weather or appetite, there's something at The Attic for everyone.

The service was fast, but for some reason, the lady on duty seemed disapproving that we didn't order more than drinks. She kept coming and asking us if we needed anything else, and looked incredibly sour when we said 'No, thank you' each time. This was a Sunday afternoon, and hardly anyone was there, so it certainly wasn't a seating issue. I felt like she was going to ask us to leave at one point. Bear with me, but I don't want to feel pressured into buying more or leaving early. I hope she was just having a bad day and this isn't a normal reflection of customer service here.

I have become a Japanese food lover from the Teriyaki chicken to the sashimi,Midori helped me fall in love. The restaurant is very cosy and welcoming with soft background music in the background. This creates a nice, relaxed and calm atmosphere perfect for a date, a catch up or even dinner for one. I had the teriyaki chicken with rice and a glass of their rice wine. The food was fresh and tasty, no bumpy or chewy bits in my rice! The chicken was succulent and well flavoured. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and my only issue was the dessert menu, Midori could do with more dessert options.

There's a great view of the bay from the restaurant, making it a nice place to people watch or the perfect backdrop for a dinner date. My partner really enjoys the udon here and I usually go for the katsu or the one of the hot boxes- the hot boxes in particular are really good. Midori's sushi is pretty popular aswell, which you can order when you're dining in, or take to go- their California rolls are so tasty! I'd suggest trying out one of their entrees too, they've got a good selection at good prices and the portions aren't too big, so you'll still have room for your main meal. Next time you're in Mission Bay I'd try out Midori for a great-tasting meal and great service.

Water glasses landed on the table about the same moment as we sat down but I have to say that they should ask what you prefer - carbonated or tap. I hate fizzy water and that's what we got. I like the extra touch like offering straw hats for the sun given there is no shade there in the Summer time. Café on Kohi is part of the same group as Takapuna Beach Café and Rosie in Parnell to name a few of the Hip Groups establishments (and all my fav). They all have a similar feel with great food and great service. The place was packed but the food came quickly, the Matre-D was great value and reminded me that I could take a doggie bag home when I found the dish I chose was bigger than my appetite. My platter was made up of Pancetta, Toulouse sausage, smoked Trevally, paper thin pickles in mustard, olives and toasted sour dough. It was great and I did take some home but if there was cheese it would have been perfect. My friend had the rotisserie chicken with couscous and yoghurt and said that was good. The cafe was heaving but we were luckily able to grab some chairs and along with a small side table outside. We were enjoying out fantastic (as per usual) coffee when disaster struck. Lulu took exception to a passing Jack Russell and lunged sending the table, the glasses and cups flying, amid yapping dogs and human squeals. No problem for the Kohi team, who were straight out with brooms to sweep up the debris. Glass was everywhere. Then without a blink, fresh water and new coffees were delivered to calm the humans' nerves. Great to see such fantastic service! I would highly recommend the Kohi Cafe. It's a great place to hang out for coffee, especially on a sunny afternoon when you can sit right on the footpath - just watch out for passing Jack Russells. P.S. Try the attached Store for some award-winning ice cream!
