But I guess cuteness comes at a price, because things here are just a bit exxy by Asian standards. Sure, you'd probably expect to pay $7 for a smoothie, $6 for an iced coffee or $9 for a slice of cake in any other cafe but somehow it just seems wrong when you're in Eastwood. But hey, it tastes good and it looks SO FREAKING CUTE so I'll let it slide. Service can be a bit iffy, with several tables staying uncleared for the whole time I was there and staff not being able to explain several items on their menu. And be prepared to carry your own food and drinks with you if you sit upstairs. These guys are open til late, so it's usually packed on any night of the week with students and their laptops using the wifi. But hey, they're probably pretty cute too so it all just adds to the charm.

C&F is a good solid cafe for if you live in or around Beecroft or like to be able to buy kid clothes with your big breakfast. The coffee is Gabriel brand, the ingredients are fresh and you'll find all your old cafe favourites like BLAT, hotcakes and ricotta on fruit toast. Prices are pretty standard for the area, around $20-25 per person. Make no mistake, there will be kids so don't go here if you're the cantankerous type. There is a little reading corner, shelves of toys for your kids to pester you into buying and clothes so cute they'll make you want to reproduce.

A little over espressed (and thus a little burnt and bitter), but seriously just a tad (don't forget, I really am a picky bastard). I don't recall having drunk Di Gabriel coffee before, but it was enjoyable. Getting back to the primary focus of this cafe, mums with kids, I am sure they would be happy this cafe uses a range of loose leaf T2 tea. And for the kids, the babychinos expressly come with marshmellows (which more cafes should really do! Some places charge $2 for a small glass of milk!!). Everyone coming in seems to be on a first name basis with Scott, who does a great job on the old espresso machine. The cafe has the same laid back feel Scott brings, with a backing track of smooth jazz. There is ample seating out the from with the gas heaters but we were soooo cold we opted for indoors. We were here well after three but they were still serving lunch and it looked pretty good. Our needs were coffee and something sweet. It didn't disappoint, very nice coffee and really good biscotti. With plenty of competition in the area the baristas and the pastry cooks need to be on their game. We will definitely detour here for lunch one day.

The cafe is usually very quiet during the day, seeing as it's somewhat nondescript and doesn't appear to get much traffic, but that in no way lessens the quality of their fare. At night, though, it gets a little busier, and you won't have to worry about the cold on a winter night, because they have a nice big toasty heater in the middle of the outdoor seating area. Being a new place they've been fiddling around with the hours & range to see what works for the area. The fitout is clean & modern & the food is much better in substance & presentation but most importantly the Campos coffee is of a more than acceptable level for a local. It's not somewhere I'd suggest going out of your way for but if you're local or passing through it's a great option particularly as it's much easier & free to park compared to down the road in Parra.
