I did not even know this place existed! I was heading to Kanata and was hungry so I went on…read moreUberEats and looked at "Deals" and Burrito Xpress popped up. They were offering buy one get one free Quesadillas for $14.95. I looked up the address and realized that they are where Nu Caribbean used to be (I didn't even know that Nu Caribbean closed down). I quickly ordered the quesadillas, and drove to the store for pickup. They serve fast food Tex Mex, similar to Chipotle, Mucho Burrito, Bar Burrito, etc. You select your item (taco, burrito, quesadilla or bowl), your protein, and then your toppings. So I chose chicken, black beans, lettuce, Pico de Gallo, cheese, roasted chickpeas and roasted sweet potatoes (yeah, I know, the last 2 toppings are weird to put in a quesadilla, but that's how I roll, lol). The quesadillas were huge and heavy. Each one came in it's own separate box, cut into 4 pieces and came with salsa and sour cream on the side. It was fantastic! The tortilla was so fresh. It was crispy on the surface, but still slightly chewy. I really loved it. They don't skimp on the toppings either. I ate one and brought the other one home to my husband. He ate it but noted there was cilantro in it (an ingredient that he finds objectionable). Truth be told, I didn't even realize there was cilantro in it, lol. So if you don't like cilantro, you might want to discuss that with the staff before ordering. I didn't request cilantro as a topping, so it must be mixed into their meats or one of the sauces or toppings. The lady who helped me was very friendly and welcoming. It was such a great deal with the BOGOF, but even the regular price (which is only $11.95 if you buy directly from the store) is good. This place is quite far from my house, but if I lived close by, I'd be there often. There's some seating in the restaurant if you wanted to eat in. I took mine to go obviously. The restaurant is close to A.Y Jackson highschool. I'm thinking they are popular with the highschool kids. The restaurant is in a strip mall, next to Circle K. Free parking in the strip mall.

Burrito Xpress - Quesadilla. $11.95 each, but there was an UberEats deal $14.95 BOGO. This is one portion. Second portion in another identical box.

You pay by weight of everything in the stir fry bowl before it gets cooked so beware of how much liquid (sauce) you put in since that can sneak the price up on you. But overall, very worth it!

And they have a seasonal Mexican menu going on right now? Confusing. Decided on the bowl by weight. No way my small bowl was over $33. Sheesh. But, they said it was. The starter soup... just no. My friend got the hot and sour. I got the broccoli coconut. Mine had no trace of coconut and both were watered down but we were hungry and ate them. The food at the 'trough' looked fine. The bowl was weighed and we had a seat. It wasn't busy but the food took a long time to grill. Both our food was cooked until black. Is the grill never cleaned? Why can't we watch the food being cooked like at the last Mongolian Grill I had been to? Any scallops I had in there was gone as in too cooked/disintegrated and everything was the same charred colour. I had a small 5oz glass of red wine. It was good but almost $12 for a few sips. The rice at the table in a thermos was severely overcooked. Skipped that. Too bad. I love rice. Also, skipped the stale wraps on the table meant for the food. No... way. How old were they? Liked the hot handwipes at the end of the meal and the fortune cookie was fresh. That's it... no other reason to return here. Cost way exceeds quality. And I came home hungry... Even the couple at the next table's dessert came out burned. Sizzling brownie, it was!

I didn't think that would be the case. It was my first time dining here. They were out of certain foods and couldn't make certain drinks that we wanted. No bueno. Food... Barabacoa tacos and a birria taco plate. Food was really good and served hot which I liked. No free chips and salsa here. The lighting was too bright. I loved the colours in the place and it was clean but I'd love to see dimmer lighting, candles on the tables, salt and pepper as well as hot sauce. Drinks $14 each and tiny. This place is super $$$$. Tacos $6.50 each and 3 birria tacos were $27. I heard the Merivale location is better? And a different menu. I may check out that one. Too bad as Kanata needs more REAL Mexican food!
