The intimate dance space in the back continues that feel--instead of being intimidated by a giant open floor, you'll end up making friends and bopping in the little space as I did. I can't testify to drinks, but I appreciated the availability of nonalcoholic beverages like hot chocolate and house made lemonade. And the staff--especially the DJ--were so welcoming! My friend and I were gay bar newbies and didn't want to leave because the energy was so good--a strong recommendation here!

The cutest interior, this queer+ bar has two main spaces. The front bar area and a back dance floor with mirrors and a stage. Fun drinks are waiting for you while you dance with yourself in the mirror! Who doesn't love the sound of that?! I love the staff, the bartender/co-owner makes you feel welcomed and goes above to ask what you think of the space and how he can improve during this reopening. Good Judys just opened back up this April 2021 so be kind as she works through the kinks. Very happy to have this bar in my neighborhood of Northside! See you there!

We got there at 6:30pm to have dinner prior to them closing the kitchen when the music starts. There was no waitress service unless you paid for a VIP table with had a $100 surcharge and came with service and a bottle of champagne. Met the owner Brian and he was personable and extremely hard working. This was our first time in this tavern and we would definitely go again. On this occasion we saw the Noah Wotherspoon Band and they were excellent. This place has 13 tables and ~20 bar seats. Super small venue so don't forget to either come early or make a reservation. The hubby had the chips and queso and did not care for it but the burger and fries he ordered were fine. I ordered 3 apps, onion rings, green tomatoes, and deep fried carrots. I liked the green tomatoes the least. The fried carrots will definitely be ordered again, the were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Our friends both ordered patty melts and said they liked them. We all had cocktails and beer and they were fine. Definitely liked the vibe here and we will go back to see someone else soon.

The Civil-War era building is adorned with plush leather seating and exposed brick walls, radiating an effortlessly chic vibe. Additionally there is an outdoor area on the 2nd floor as well that looks out over 6th street. But it's not just the ambiance that sets Igby's apart - it's the impeccable service and expertly crafted cocktails that truly elevate the experience. These unique drinks not only taste excellent but also are perfect for pictures. My personal favorite is the Tito's Austin Blossom which has Tito's, pineapple juice, lime juice, and agave with a sprig of rosemary on top. Each sip was full of flavor and the smell of rosemary only heightened the experience. It has that classic "Cheers" bar vibe, small-ish, clearly a spot where regulars know each other. They had a fun feature, there is a chalkboard where you can buy a drink for someone and then that person can come redeem it later. Insider tip: after 11pm they serve pierogies, a great late night bite if you are bar hopping and need some food. We only stopped for one drink as part of a bigger bar crawl we were doing but its a place worthy of going back to for sure.

It was pretty busy when we first stopped in, so we stood at a little wall table towards the front, but then a large section of the bar opened up and we moved over there to get more space. The music vibes were immaculate! All of the bangers from my childhood mixed in with some classics. At one point everyone in the bar was singing along to Michelle Branch and it was so fun. Before we leaving, we were talking about how cute the drink coasters were (like little doilies) with one of the bar tenders and she gave us extra and some match books for little mementos. Now we are contemplating starting a junk journal to have a physical reminder of our trips together. Wholly recommend stopping in for some late night drinks.

We arrived mid afternoon and were the only customers there, which we were just fine with. The bartender was incredibly friendly and offered a lot of advice and his opinions on several of the bourbons. The more we talked to him, it seemed that he didn't quite know his bourbons, which is fine, because you need to start somewhere, but he also didn't seem to have his cocktail skills perfected either. Unfortunately, their website did not match what was currently being offered. I was excited to try one of their seasonal cocktails butt was told it was not available as that was the previous month's availability. I decided to go with an old fashioned instead but was sorely disappointed as it just fell flat and didn't seem to be in the bartenders wheelhouse. My boyfriend tried a cocktail as well but experienced the same letdown. We had read great reviews on Goodfellows pizzaria and did place an order but will review that thru the pizzeria itself. While the bar itself has the potential to offer a fun vibe and could entice you back for more, that was not what we experienced and will probably not return any time soon.
