In this picture we have a salmon croquette entre with a pancake on the side. The meal was approximately $17.

Not the biggest most amazing plate in the world but enough to feel satisfied and that's the only important thing.

Meatloaf, mash potatoes, collard greens, and green beans

The Banyan Tree restaurant is a great little bistro style restaurant with excellent soul food off the beaten path. Just a few miles off of Florida State Rd. 27, in Belle Glade, Florida. Lots of menu options with breakfast and brunch. The meatloaf was flavorful and made with passion. The French toast was sweet and rich with fresh strawberries. The servers were very friendly with bright smiles. If you're ever in the Belle Glade area, it's definitely worth checking out.

    Meat Loaf Slurp. So yummy

My colleagues enjoy dining here during the week, as well as doing lunch meetings. Great service with a smile and they check up on you routinely. Great country foods, like the meatloaf, wings, pork chops and the sides are slurpy. Not a buffet, and made to order...Mmmm

Grilled pork chops, collard greens, rice with gravy... yummy!!

Our first experience at the Banyan Tree was very good. The restaurant was very busy during lunch. A nice mix of customers and the staff was very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean and orderly. The food is "soul food" with plenty of "soul" to heighten your taste buds. I have been eating soul food for over 25 years and this food definitely ranks high on my list! There are very few places in Belle Glade that have good food. The Banyan Tree is not one of those because it has great food. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will come back again the next time I am back in town!

Fried chicken, mac n cheese, cabbage, and candied yams (not in the picture)

The shop is located on a quiet street right next to the Forrey Grill, a restaurant we like very much. There are tables outside the shop which is delightfully welcoming. As you walk in you might wonder if you were in Alice in Wonderland! Adorably furnished with comfy couches, tables and high tops. The menu is large along with all kinds of coffees and teas. There is also ice cream and home baked goods. We sat down and our server brought me a large tall cold unsweetened ice tea with lemon. David had a mocha frappe topped with whipped cream! He also ordered the spicy bean and sausage soup. I opted for a cup of broccoli cheese soup and a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread. The food was super delish. The chicken salad with lettuce and tomato was one of the best I've had in a long time. Mine also came with a fresh baked macadamia nut cookie! We enjoyed our lunch and took in the lovely surroundings. What a great place for a tea party, birthday party or baby shower! We will definitely return on our next trip going to the east coast!
