I was initially excited to move into Banyan when I read such great reviews about Mark Taylor and "standard" they withhold. Within 3 days of me moving into the "new build" I had my first issue and my water heater needed to be replaced. During that visit with their maintenance manager, I slowly started to discover how I picked the wrong place to live. The house seems to always have some issue wrong with it weather it's plumbing (cheap faucets/shower heads), faulty electricity (multiple lights/wiring needing to be redone), or poor craftsmanship of shelving (closets can hang VERY limited amount of clothing), Banyan has ya covered in all issues :). When I brought these issues up to the maintenance manager, it seemed that he always had something to justify said issues and would try to make it seem like I would break said water heater within 3 days of moving in or any other issue. It was on the 3rd visit that he so boldly started to ask me more inappropriate/racist questions to which I shut down, addressed with management and was dismissed. Two days after this complaint, I was targeted by the maintenance manager and he illegally towed my friends vehicle. It has been 7 months of me reaching out to multiple managers via email, text, and call to resolve the damages that were made to my friends car from this incident. During the process of me contacting different employees within the Mark Taylor community, it was brought to my attention that this particular maintenance manager had received multiple complaints from different tenants and was not allowed in certain homes. He has since been transferred locations and I have yet to hear back of the $2,000 worth of damages that Mark Taylor has been ignoring when even some employees have reviewed the footage and claimed that Mark Taylor was at fault. They will only enforce rules when it fits their racial narrative and makes them a quick buck but will not hold themselves accountable for their faults yet they attempt to want to better the community by now trying to charge a "common area bill" over poor financial decisions they've made. The common areas are a small dog park (a patch of turf with some lawn chairs and poop bags) and a grill with some seating. The dog park, in my opinion, is more like a dog run. This community is beyond overpriced for the headache and anxiety that continues to cause me. read more
