I was very disappointed with the bank after trying a different location and still having bad…read moreservice. I received service from Erik Aguilar on 12/24/25. I understand it was Christmas Eve and people wanted to go home. Unfortunately. This bank doesn't offer a lot of locations where it really limits the days I can go take care of things I cannot do online. I requested some money and needed to get some cash swap to larger bills, he seemed annoyed and said he might not have time. Not to go on much detailed but I wasn't asking for a transaction that was going to take him one hour to complete, it was a simple withdrawal and some 20's turn into 100's and he didn't want to do it? He ended up doing it and I was out in less than 10 min but didn't give me receipt so when I check the account I saw that the gave me the account number (I asked him for it as I didn't have it available) from the wrong account and I was at risk of overdraft. I ended up returning on 12/29/25 to speak with the manager to share my experience and to close the account. I asked him to provide some sort of receipt showing I closed the account and he said he could only do that the following day and that he would email me. I received the email that says an account was closed but as of today, a week later, I still have 2 out of the 3 accounts showing active on the app. I was very clear I wanted to close everything and terminate business with this bank. Obviously I'll have to go back again to deal with this as they don't care of the time of their guest.

Only PNC anywhere near by, they are always friendly and personable. Been with them for many years…read more Their checking accts are really good as they have no fees. Really nice tellers and the machines are always well maintained, my only annoyance is that when closed I can't get to the ATM

This is one of the credit unions I currently bank with, and I'll be honest -- my experiences at…read morethis particular location have been a little hit or miss. Nothing terrible, just depending on the day and timing. Let's talk parking first. Whew. It can definitely be a challenge. The branch is located in the La Mesa Spring Valley Plaza, which is shared with several busy businesses like Round Table Pizza, Albert's Mexican Food, Vons, Sports Clips, and even an Asian buffet among others. Because of that, you may find yourself circling the lot a few times waiting for someone to pull out. If you're coming during peak hours, just prepare for that. I usually stop by when I'm already in the area running errands and just need to get in and out. For quick transactions, deposits, or basic banking needs, it works perfectly. Now let me say this -- the staff here are super sweet and very friendly. They really do try to take care of customers in a prompt and professional manner. I've never had to handle any major financial matters here, but for everyday banking needs, they've been solid. They also have an ATM outside and a drive-through option, which is convenient if you don't feel like going inside or you're short on time. Overall, California Coast Credit Union is a great credit union with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, plus access to shared branch locations in certain areas. That flexibility is a big win for me because I can bank pretty much anywhere I am in the city. If you're on the fence about joining California Coast, don't be. If you're looking to establish checking, savings, or just want a reliable credit union with accessibility around town, they're definitely worth giving a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
