FYI: they exchange pesos to dollars and vice-versa any time of day or night, but they only exchange euros during the day. The staff here is always friendly, and the exchange is quick and seamless. They have a sizable parking lot, and I've never had any bad experiences in this area, even though I'm usually just passing through San Ysidro. I am disabled and needed to sit down because I could not stand in line. There was no place to sit other than sitting on a desk. The security guard told me that I was not allowed to sit there. I explained to him that I was dizzy and I could not stand any longer. He placed his hand on his pepper spray and it appeared to me that he was threatening me After I exchange about $400 into pesos I returned to the desk to sit down to arrange my money in my wallet. I asked the cashier to confirm the rate and she said yes. I gave her $1,000 USD. She then told me she would only exchange $950 so she would not have to register my information. That already felt suspicious. After the transaction she gave me only about 14,705 pesos for $950 USD. That is far below the advertised rate. Only after I questioned the amount did she say there was a commission of 13 cents per dollar. This was never disclosed beforehand and the sign mentioning it is extremely small. When I asked to cancel the transaction and return my money she refused and locked herself inside the office. The police came but said it was a civil matter. Be very careful with this place. The advertised rate is misleading and you will receive much less than expected.
