I had a certified death certificate with me and had written a letter requesting that this service be performed. The person doing the process went to MY profile and ENTERED ME AS DECEASED. It then took more than an hour for her to undo the damage. As of this moment my checking accounts are open, although at one point there was a "hold" on at least one of them. However, ALL of my debit cards were "killed" as soon as I was entered into the system as deceased. It is Wednesday (1/11/2023). I will not have new cards until Monday (1/16/2023), IF THEN because Monday is Martin Luther King Day. The compensation I received was the refund of the service charge fees for one month on each account. I do not think that the branch manager even knows that this happened. And, at one point I blew up because the person who made the error was taking a very long time trying to scan something into their system. The floor walker talked to me like I was being unreasonable. Seriously? My husband died. This process should not have taken more than 20 minutes at most. But instead, I was sitting in a cubicle for almost 90 minutes while the person who did the damage kept saying "this has never happened to me before". Find another bank to do business with. If you are stuck with Chase, use another branch. This branch is quite simply unacceptable. PS. I did NOT have ANY problems at M&T Bank nor at Fairfield County Bank for the same service -- removing my husband's name from our accounts.

This organization, situated in Fairfield County, as I am, was a good place to start. Two visits in 24 hours to the branch have been very satisfying in terms of service. They even remembered me! Seriously that's a big deal! I immediately saved $144 per year getting rid of my Bank of America checking account and working with this organization. I only wait for a piece of plastic to arrive ( minor inconvenience) so I can start to resume my normal life with only one Financial institution in place. They've been pleasant to deal with and actually remembered me from day one today to day two! That in itself is remarkable in this day and age where corporate and banker greed is starting to take over our society! Peace out!

I have to go there, as my 90 year old mother and I have a joint account. This branch is staffed by people are not overly competent. Citi's online system is terrible, very unfriendly to a senior citizen. My mom messes up her password frequently, and Citi is one of the hardest to recover. And you can't force the browser to remember the password, like every other bank I use. When I had to get a new debit card, they swore to me it would be sent overnight. After visiting the branch TWICE when it never showed, I finally just called the main call center. They looked it up and said it was sent regular mail. Got it in 7 days. The branch either lied, or was incompetent. I went in today to get a "medallion" signature guarantee. The said wait about 5 minutes. I heard one of the tellers ask another person to tell the manager someone was waiting. The manager was talking to her daughter according to the teller. After more minutes, someone else came out and said she was with a "client" and it would be a few more minutes. Hmmmm. I walked in there about 5 minutes after it opened, I really doubt a client was in there. I gave up, drove 15 miles to my Fidelity office in Fairfield where they greeted me professionally and took care of business with zero delay, thanked me for coming, had a WSJ to read with fresh coffee. That is service. Also, when trying to call the branch at 9:01, they don't answer. Tried several times. Customer service is not one of Citibank's strengths. I am not sure what is, other than lots of branches. Stay away. Stick to a local bank.

The "Manager" is useless, and the staff takes upwards of 25 minutes to put through a couple deposits, and half the time, the deposit slips are missing. I spend a good part of my morning standing in line (by myself) at the Westport bank of america... Not sure how anyone gets anything done there. I've asked several times to speak to the manager, supervisors, etc. seeing as I run a busy business and need to return to work in a timely fashion, and each person is less accommodating then the next.
