Update: Patrick the manager contacted me personally, twice, and resolved all of this. Everyone makes mistakes. I probably overreacted. I will look at this bank for future needs. ----- I do not recommend applying for any kind of loan through this bank or doing business with them at all. Their website clearly says they offer solar panel installation loans and they are on the EnergySage website list of lenders so I applied online. They did a hard pull of my credit and then called me to say that they don't offer solar loans anymore. I asked if they would remove the inquiry from my credit report and they said no. I will tell everyone I know to never do business with this bank. My FICO scores are 820+ with AGI $500k+. What a stupid hill for them to die on. read more

Bad business 800 fico score, no mortgage payment got rental income that covers my entire mortgage, no car payment, no debt what so ever $850 over three revolving CCs out of 60k plus available credit.....Over 100k liquid assests.....Was looking to amortize as opposed to stick out a lump sump for a mini split systemm...Couldnt even qualify for 10k....This is a bottom of the barrel lender.... I had the worst experience while trying to obtain an energy efficiency loan through them. So much run around and chasing and complete poor communication from them. Their website states that debt to income ratio only for loans over $15,000. My loan was under that. Yet they still used that as an excuse to decline my loan. Of course my debt to income is high, I just purchased a home! My credit and income was more than enough to qualify. Even getting a co-signer didn't help as my partner is a independent 1099 employee. And due to Covid was forced to go on unemployment in 2021 for 2 months. So apparently that made him automatically ineligible despite his income the other 10 months being more than enough to qualify. . Nonsense. It was acceptable for us to obtain our mortgage but not a heat loan? Such an awful experience here. Take your business anywhere else besides this place. read more

Staff is not helpful and refuse to provide excellent customer service. When a company overcharged our account, bank five hit us with over limit fees even after the company admitted it was there error. I went in with the letter and was told it was not their problem and they will not remove the fees. In this economy you would think customer service would be higher but this bank sadly believes in fees and no service. Please, please save your time and money by finding another bank if you're interested in BankFive. I had a good experience with them originally because a lender helped me out with a loan, so I kept the account even after it was paid off despite moving to RI. Everything besides that truly is a joke. Customer service is ridiculous, holds and stop payments were put on my card multiple times without warning or explanation. Granted, I love being declined at Dunkin Donuts for a 2.73 charge, but twice is enough. The real fun is when you realize they can't do ANYTHING important over the phone and you have to stop by one of their branches for service. The app and mobile deposit function is also dated and lacks usability. Very minimal functions and quality of life perks. Even when I finally decided to close out and find a better bank, there has been nothing but hassle trying to close an empty account. One last rude employee on the phone led me to finally leave this review, and if it helps just one person avoid this horribly run bank I'll be happy. I got a mortgage through bank five and they sold it 1 month later to a company called lakeview/loan care llc and since have had nothing but problems with said company. They have charged late payments even though it was payed on time it's gone as far as going against my credit report which dropped my credit score by over 100 points. Wife has to call every month since mortgage was sold to correct problems. Very disappointing in what i thought was a nice local bank filled with local people that years ago my own mother worked at. Thanks again for selling my mortgage to 1 of the worst companies out there so you could quickly cash out. Will be re financing with a local bank that doesn't sell the mortgage and should of went with them in the first place. read more

I used their ATM, then went to St. James for a drink, and they towed my car. Used a disreputable towing service(Big Tow) that tried to charge my twice the legal limit. As a local business, if you tow cars instead of stopping people from parking or asking them to move, no one will do business with you. read more

They have - in addition to tradition personal and collateralized loans - a small amount debt consolidation that does not require listing all monthly liabilities. The professionalism, knowledge, and overall kindness of their loan originatorsand officers are a pleasant change of pace. Let's add the branch in Dartmouth to the list of phenomenal locations. I made a last-minute IRA contribution last week. The teller and assistant branch manager could not have been more professional, efficient, and courteous. My schedule is nuts on a good day so learned and capable branch representatives really helped me out. The interest rate on their deposit products remain competitive and would imagine interest on loans/revolving credit must be similar. Disregard the reviews you read below, it's a great bank. They probably have the cheapest fees around and the best hours (open Saturday and SUNDAYS) clearly the two previous reviews are people who cannot manage their money or else they would not be getting charged fees. Setting up a new account on their website is an exercise in frustration. My experience with their online banking was awful.

I am a business owner in the town of Somerset Ma. Ive banked with Banbk 5 for 6+ years untill my business fell victim to theft. This bank's security department is awfull and unforgiving. They cashed checks from my account which were stolen and from which signatures were forged and took no responsibility. They closed my account without ever making contact with me. They are incompetent and embarrassment to be serving our community and local businesses. I strogly suggest you look elsewere to bank with especially if you are a small business struggling in this economy as I am. They WILL NOT be there for you if you need them. They pointed there fingure at me and though I was a suspect rather than a victim. Even though in my case the suspect was found, confessed, and is being charged as a felon. I received a check in the mail with what was left in my account as a (see ya wouldnt wanna be ya) good bye. Disgusting. Security Department is a shamefull disgrace. read more

I tried Bank5 for online banking since it had both an interest checking and savings account with only a minimum of $100 to start getting yields. the process to sign up was not difficult at all but you can only put in $100 (total) initially. So I put 90 in savings and 10 in checking. They are a little slow on getting the process going (a day or two) before you get an email that allows you to have a username and password. I called them and the customer service was outstanding, did not wait at all to talk to a real person!! the service agent gave me a way to get into my account prior to getting the email that tells you how. I signed up for external transfers and I have transferred money to that account. Overall, I have had exceptional service so far. I may even be switching my other accounts over and doing bill pay there. The fees are far better than I have ever gotten at any other bank and I will be gaining interest on my money as well!!
