Branch manager all the way down to head pooper scooper. Stopped in today to cash a check. Very helpful staff and friendly service. I took away a couple stars, however, for the pushy behavior of the teller who helped me. Maybe her name was Chaira? She harassed the woman in front of me with offers of opening a checking account and moving her business account to Webster. The woman was obviously uncomfortable and the conversation lasted several minutes. Then it was my turn to be forced into a conversation I didn't want to be a part of, fending off offers for additional accounts, free accounts and then, a meeting with the branch manager. She really needs to tone it down a bit. Really detracted from my visit today.

They have a great drive-through with a real human behind the window and they're very personal with their customer service. I have been slacking off on my organisational skills lately and I did not order business checks in time, so I needed some temporary copies. The associate printed me a few right at the drive-through today! My only problem is, I did not remember to ask her her name, even though I know who she is, just isn't coming to my brain. Teller line does get a bit busy during lunch time but they do their best to give alternative options to save you time. A+ for loan approval process and speed…read more F- for everything else. Applied for a loan and was quickly approved. The issue was, that the check was for more than the vehicle contract amount. As a result, I reached out to see if they could just wire the correct amount to the dealer. NFCU would not wire to the dealer. This makes little sense, as wiring it to the dealer would be the most secure option, and would ensure their security of the collateral. Instead, I was given the option to either request a direct deposit of the original funds amount to my account, then wiring it myself to the dealer or reapply for a new loan of the new amount. They would not even reissue the check for a lower amount. I chose to have the funds direct deposited. WHAT A MISTAKE. The process started on Thursday evening, and funds were finally deposited on Wednesday. At that point, I call in to do a wire transfer. I'm then told that it can't be done over the phone, and that I would have to send it as a secure message. The wire process is now slated to take 24-48 hours... That's pretty unheard of for an institution of their size. Wires are designed to have the money be sent within minutes. All in all, the whole process added over a week of delay to the process. Had I known it was this bad, I would have just reapplied on the phone Thursday night, overnighted the check, and had it by Saturday. NFCU should seriously reconsider their processes. These inefficiencies will seriously turn away newer member. Also, prior to this whole ordeal, the dealer told me that they would accept the check, but that they would have to wait until it cleared before allowing me to pick up the car... seems like they themselves have had to deal with these inefficiencies.

The interior is somewhat upscale, several offices, and employees to fill them. I have never had to wait in line at this bank and find most of the tellers to be friendly and competent. There drive thru ATM is open 24/7 however it would be nice if the bank were open longer hours M-W ( they close at 4). You avoid several fees and surcharges doing banking with a credit union as opposed to a regular a bank, however if you go there for shared branching make sure when you arrive there "shared system" before the transaction.

However due to recent issues with the credit union I like many consumers now a days threatened to close my checking and savings accounts. Now I know there must be people out there who have banked here for years longer than me but I recieved no sympathy from the teller closing my accounts. He did not try to save my account or apologize for the constant issues. It makes me sad to write this review since I was such a fan of this bank prior to the issues. However I have to say this credit union has changed and is no longer the bank down the road with friendly helpful faces. No it has now become a chain with low customer service standards like many other banks.

A bank located inside a Stop and Shop. Actually just a counter with a couple of tellers. Not a bad…read moreidea because it makes things convenient but this particular counter is located right behind the registers where people are trying to get out. It gets extremely crowded at times and with the people trying to get out of the store and others trying to get to the bank tellers it can get totally chaotic. This is probably the worse place in the whole store to put the bank. Part of the problem is that people finish their shopping and try to negotiate a heavy carriage of groceries into the bank lines. Not a good idea. I don't know how many times I have had a foot run over by some idiot trying to push a carriage into a small roped off line. Plus the courtesy is right next to the bank and again behind the registers, so you literally have to fight you way through little kids running around and old ladies just standing in the way with blank looks on their faces to get into a bank line. The actually bank tellers have always been polite and quick if not particular friendly. How could they be with all this chaos going on around them. Even though at quiet times this bank location can be convenient I usually prefer to go to one of the other branches. The screaming kids and vacuous old ladies are just too much for me.
