First, this is not your typical bank - they are open every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving. They also have extended hours from 7:30a - 8pm Monday - Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sundays. When I went into the branch I noticed it was super clean and super quiet. I talked with a teller about the fact that there is no customers. She stated that because of the extended hours they have plenty of customers (always looking for new ones!) but they are scattered through out the day. Clara helped me to open a checking account and got my VISA debit card, with my name and all on the spot! That's cool! I came back a few weeks later I returned to open an IRA (always need to save - right?!) Clara helped me again but there were some computer issues. She told me not to worry, she would handle everything as to not waste my time and I could simply return another day to sign everything. The next day she called and let me know that all the paperwork was done and just needed my signature. Easy enough. I stopped by after work, signed everything and viola - I had my IRA. Thanks Clara and the team there. They really make banking easy and simple!

Given my long-standing relationship with TD Bank, I expected to be treated with respect, fairness, and professionalism when I applied to open an additional business account for my new company. Instead, I felt singled out and unfairly treated during the process. The first question the bank employee asked me was where I was from. I explained that I am a U.S. citizen and have lived in this country for more than 38 years. Following that exchange, I encountered numerous objections and obstacles while attempting to open the account. The way I was treated left me with the strong impression that my Venezuelan origin may have influenced how my application was handled. I found this experience deeply offensive and unacceptable, particularly as a long-standing customer who has maintained both personal and business banking relationships with TD Bank for seven years. What made this experience even more disappointing was that I crossed the street to Wells Fargo, where I was able to open a business account for my new company and was even offered a business credit card. This raises a serious concern: why was I met with so many obstacles at TD Bank, an institution where I have been a loyal customer for years, while another bank was willing to work with me? I have had the same frustrating experience with Dade County Federal Credit Union over and over…read moreagain. The level of unprofessionalism and inconvenience has become extremely disappointing. It feels like they make you go through unnecessary obstacles just to access and spend your own hard-earned money. They constantly place holds on my account over even minor transactions, and I am unable to spend more than $1,000 without having to deal with additional fraud-related holds or restrictions. I have also had repeated problems depositing my work checks because there always seems to be an issue, and checks have been returned or delayed. Most recently, I signed paperwork to have a hold removed so I could deposit a work check. A week later, the hold still had not been cleared. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told that the paperwork had not even been submitted. That is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. A full week passed without anyone even processing the paperwork, and I was left without access to my money. As a loyal county employee, you would think this credit union would make banking easier and provide a better experience for its members. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. There needs to be much better communication, efficiency, and accountability when it comes to handling members' money. I sincerely hope they take these issues seriously and make improvements, because this has become an ongoing and exhausting experience.
