The tav and I go way back. My first job straight of of high school was at the tav under two of the scariest chefs on the planet. It was, and I think it still is, a place where everyone knows each other, local sports club raffles and some decent pub food, all in a very laid back atmosphere. Some good times were to be had back in the day, but now...well now it's 'pirate party' this and 'old skool' party that, trying desperately to keep younger customers drinking rather than moving onto somewhere that's open past 12.
The food is still pretty decent, but recently had some really overcooked steaks there which has put us off a bit, but friday, sat and sunday arvos are probably the best here for a laid back drink before moving onto somewhere else.
I really do like the renovations, a really nice outdoor area with an outdoor bar, great for functions. The dining area is well run too, with a host that helps to seat people and make sure the kitchen and dining runs smoothly on a busy night. Excellent deals for midweek feeds as week. read more
