Hidden outside of the main shopping district is "The Last Straw"…read more Upon entering this place you'll realise that it is something totally different from what you have already seen (at least in Shepparton). The place is very tastefully decorated, the staff are helpful and welcoming to your need and the prices of their curries and rotis are reasonable. Not to mention the amazing coffee they make. A coffee with curry that I had cost somewhere between $16. Considering the food, their hospitality and the place. It is worth it.

Just because it's in there middle of an industrial district, this is not just a quick place for workers to get lunch. A combination coffee shop and thai restaurant, it excels at both. Firstly the coffee. These guys know their stuff, and easily have the best coffee in Shepparton. They roast their own beans and put a lot of care into it. Their rotated beans are so highly regarded that they actually sell them to a lot of the other cafes around Shepparton. Next, the food. First, don't expect a menu of a Thai restaurant. They have a menu with about five thai dishes, which constantly changes to keep it interesting. Very full of flavour and with flavours and dishes that go beyond what most people have tried and thai restaurants. Once you go you'll see want this strange out of the way place is always so popular.

Was able to BYO but also noted they had some good staple wines available for selection. Highly recommend, we'll be returning for sure! Was very quiet for patrons (maybe because it was midweek?) but takeaway seemed to be flowing in and out of the door.

It is seriously good, and reason enough alone to head to this Thai restaurant in Rosanna Village. The décor is calming and stylish and the second level makes this small space appear bigger then it is. The service is charming if not a little erratic and there is a limited beverage selection so BYO. Now to the main event, the food. It is consistently delicious. Have I mentioned the roti? Please don't be dissuade by my obsession with the roti, the rest of the menu is great in itself. Thai curries mingle with spicy salads and noodles. Everything on the menu is good, no great. The dishes taste as they are made from the freshest ingredients and the flavours are simple yet complex, like all good Thai food should be. Baan Thai also delivers in the local area and the quality of the food is maintained here too. Check the website and phone your order through, it is popular so on Friday and Saturday nights make sure you leave at least an hour. Baan Thai is a consistent and welcomed addition to my families birthday dinner rotation. And did I mention the roti?

Service is always good but can be slow if they re busy with take away as well. You need to book as it's always booked out. This is a must eat place for us when in Bright from Melb.

I use inverted commas because I am a frequent diner at Laksa King so a $17.50 laksa isn't very cheap but I sucked it up because I'd heard some great things about Suganya's. Well, didn't my bubble get burst almost instantly?! I asked for a chicken laksa with extra veggies and some rice noodles. I got laksa soup, three pieces of chicken, and a half a handful of soggy, limp veggies that I wouldn't serve to my worst enemy. My friend ordered vegetable satay stirfry. She got an oyster sauce stirfry. The only saving grace was that the two boys both ordered Pad Thai and they really nailed that one. It was delicious. Considering the price you pay to 'enjoy' the good from Suganya's ($70+ for all four meals!) it really was a disappointment and I won't be making that poor choice again. I hope that any other Yelpers out there have a better experience than us!

We hired every table for my partners 30th and when we arrived they had even decorated the restaurant for us- we were stunned! I highly recommend the larb gai salad if you like a bit of chilli- really packs a punch! For mains we can never go past the massaman curry with beef, the panang curry with chicken or the koa pud fried rice with prawns.

We keep coming here and it never fails us. The dishes at our latest outing were simply wonderful (see photos). We all sat back from the massaman and asked each other how the dish could be made any better. Even my youngest son put the question and believe me he's one of the hardest people around to please. We also all agreed that the staff at this restaurant are terrific including the man who works front of house who is so polite, efficient and pleasant and just does the most wonderful job. Then, I sat back and looked at the bill and dreamily reflected on how they make food this good at such reasonable prices. I'm not sure if the people who own and run this restaurant ever read these online reviews but if you do I've only one suggestion. Please just keep doing what you're doing.
