As we are on a bit of a health kick so we took the opportunity to be a little bit naughty and have a steak sandwich each. I was happy when the sandwich arrive sans chips just a succulent piece of steak and with plenty of healthy toppings between two thin pieces of bread. The caramelised onion really made this one pop. I'll also note that the coffees where quite good by regional Victorian standards. Overall, I'll be returning next time I venture to this part of the world.

I've driven past a few times and today I'm delighted that I stopped to try them out. It's breakfast o'clock and there is table service so take a seat and someone is right with you. They get it right with taking a coffee order right away, do I look like I need one? Well I did need one and lucky for everybody it was made promptly and delivered with a smile. Today I chose the Big Breaky Burger. I find it hard not to give these a try everywhere. I noted on the menu some additional ingredients that you won't typically see. This burger was clearly of a higher class. When it arrived (which was surprisingly quick, I guess they are quiet today, but awesome) the presentation was pretty eye catching. I blurted our something stupid and incomprehensible to the waitress. What I meant to say was "that looks awesome" and "thank you". Let's cut to the juice. The coffee is great, smooth with no bitterness! The bacon is delicious, maybe a light smokey flavour and crisped to perfection. The burger is made on a fluffy brioche bun as it should be. The avocado was generous and had a slight lemon flavour like they cared for it delicately begins the scenes. I love this place after one visit! I'll be back, and I'll bring other people. I was wondering why such a popular spot would be so isolated? But all is well worth the effort to get here. The venue is brimming with natural lighting, classic charm and warmth. For my breakfast, I ordered the Pixelated avocado (on a sourdough toast) because it just looked so darn intriguing. I didn't expect anything else to be honest, and turned out this was GOOD!! Every single element in this dish has complex flavors that compliments each other. The chili dried air kale, diced pixelated avocado and the soft shell crab was especially stunning. The dish certainly performs to its Instagram ability. For my drink, I ordered their matcha latte; it was strong tasting yet smooth. I could drink this all day! The Light Years is certainly not disappointing in any way, from the beautiful venue to the outstanding food, supported with service and ambiance for days. The prices here are reasonable for the location. 2 lattes and a jaffle $15.50. This spot maybe a little of the beaten track, but nobody found jaffle happiness on Bourke St.

We had chick pea and cauliflower, which sounded nice but ended up being reheated crumped mash that didn't taste like much of anything. The Moroccan lamb bites were also much nicer to read about than eat. The veggie pie was tolerable. We had one coffee as a a testing probe and did not order another. We did meet a lot of nice people, though and the staff were friendly. This may or may not be a good cafe for Euroa - I don't really know. Just don't expect more than boring, reheated fare and mediocre coffee.
