I was visiting family in Youngstown when I realized how badly my hair needed a cut. I came here without any prior knowledge of the salon and decided to take a chance. I was NOT disappointed. I met with Brooke and we ended up deciding on a collarbone length cut with an extended root shadow to excentuate my long faded ombré. I have gone to several other salons and never ended up receiving my desired look so I was a bit skeptical. However, Brooke did such an amazing job on my hair and was the first stylist to ever create the look I was imagining in my mind. She blended the ombré SEAMLESSLY and made my dye job look as natural as can be. I am beyond happy with her skills as a stylist and I am ecstatic to finally have the hair I've always wanted. I absolutely reccomend Brooke if you are looking for any type of ombré/balayage (although I'm sure she could do anything ) as she did an amazing job. I went here with a picture of a girl with brown hair with a lot of blonde highlights. I came out with dark hair and no blonde. I was told to trust the process which I believe is their tactic to get people to have to come back. I paid $200 for a hair color that was nothing like how I wanted it. And while I was there 2 other customers had the same issue. I will never return to this place. Very deceiving when it comes to customer satisfaction. They never offered to fix my hair or any refund just tried to get me to make another appointment. Don't waste your money. read more

$300 plus tip service and I'm left scrubbing hair dye off my whole face, ears and neck. They moved my appointment back an hour causing me to have to cancel another appointment. Good thing I did with the state I was left in. Just unreal how much dye was everywhere and of course my shirt was wet and hair not dried all the way. Guess the saying doesn't apply here, "I do not get what I paid for". Totally not cool. UPDATE ON THIS REVIEW! Talked to the manager. Appearantly I was charged incorrectly so she was adjusting that and took off for the haircut so -$70. Things took a turn for the worst last night. I ended up getting chemically burned on my neck from where the dye sat! I have pictures of the burn from before I cleaned it and after I cleaned it. It's definitely a chemical burn but most def going to get it checked out. Manager of the salon said it was just an irritation from sensitive skin and scrubbing too hard. Def no scrubbing of my skin as everything was complete fire this morning. She offered me to come in for a free service to help with that. At this point I trust noone there to touch me. The whole experience was just a nightmare. There is no excuse for being sloppy and incompetent especially when you charge the prices you do. I don't mind paying alot for a good service but this was def not that! And of course to make excuse instead of taking accountability is pretty messed up. read more

I scheduled a last minute hair cut today with Asia. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted and Asia got started with my service. The salon was clean, professional, and decorated. She shampooed my hair and took extra care (rinsing it in cold water) since it's colored. She cut and styled my hair beautifully! I'm even going back to her next week to have her color my hair. I definitely recommend this salon to anyone in the Youngstown area! read more

I had gone in to get my hair done by Nolan (taking my flushed-out red back to blonde), and it was going great; my hair was lifting. The bleach sat on for about 2 hours and 30 mins. According to most salons that I have been to this is way too long as it fries the hair, which has happened in this case. Now, by the time my hair was rinsed, he had decided that I had to get a haircut and was very insistent on cutting it, which I was like, okay, it could probably use a cut anyways. He turned me away from the mirror and didn't ask or consult me about what I wanted and hastily cut my hair (which is a really bad cut. It's choppy and cut in a ton of layers which I absolutely despise). He was trying to hid the fact that my hair was falling out and extremely damaged due to overexposure. He then pushed me over to Mae for my toning because he didn't have time for me anymore, and she was finishing up. This is where I found that my hair was looking stringy, and I pulled a ton of it out, which obviously scared me as I have never had this happen to me before, even with regular bleaching at Casals in the past. And Mae noticed that I was starting to freak out and get upset, and she kept trying to tell me to calm down, and saying that it wasn't that bad - which it was, I'm still recovering and losing hair. Then she asked me about my hair history and if I disclosed that to him in the salon. I was angry and upset, so I told her no, I did not this time, and she proceeded to make it sound like my fault and that I was to blame. She continuously said things like: "it's on both of you, and you are both are at fault," which only made me angrier. Now for Mae if she ends up reading this I had disclosed my hair history to him on the first visit I had with him because I told him I had gone on a hair adventure. (You can even ask him because this is what I told him) As he did my hair the last time he should have known this and have kept a history of it on file. 1. I bleached the red out of my using 10 volume developer that I got from Cosmo prof and mixed it 2. I then put a bright orange from Paul Mitchell's line (pop XG) where If I goofed something up, it would easily fixable by your salon as it's a Paul Mitchell studio. 3. The orange was super bright, so I threw a pinkish red on top to tone it down 4. That faded, and I came in to see the stylist (pinkish blonde at the time) So thanks again for blaming me (the customer) and telling me it's my fault and not his for not being more mindful. (She should have never been talking to me and it should have been the owner/manager right off the bat. A good rule of thumb if someone's hair is literally falling out and they are panicking don't blame them and just try to help them out and fix the problem. You'll get a better reaction other than fueling their anger and making them more upset) Nolan who damaged my hair didn't even apologize or even speak to me after destroying my hair - which is highly unprofessional and blatantly obnoxious. The manager and owner did accommodate me and sent me away with some Olaplex products to help with my hair and didn't charge me for my service, which I think was appropriate as my hair is destroyed. I am thankful as the products are helping. If you are to come here, I would be mindful of the following things: * Hair cuts are overpriced, about $40 if they take the scissors to your hair at all (my brother went in and had no idea, and one of their stylists made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and he looked the same she didn't even take off half an inch. * Always ask about pricing beforehand because, with some stylists, these prices jump without any explanations (even differing prices told to me by the manager and the stylist - and the manager had accurate pricing) * Please don't let the bleach sit in your hair for more than 45 mins, not 2 hours and 30 mins like mine - I don't want what happened to me to happen to you. It sucks. * Make sure to tell them your hair history every appointment or else it will be your "fault" if it's damaged. read more

My first interaction with bang was a spur the need to chop my hair off. I was accommodated very quickly especially on a Monday - most hair salons are closed on Monday except for this. The hairstylist I met with was very welcoming, very personable. The place is very clean, very beautiful. I definitely enjoyed my haircut and I think he did a very wonderful job. Jay was nothing but super nice and helpful on the phone and was not only able to squeeze me in the morning of the wedding, but extremely talented and gave me exactly what I was looking for.
