They waited one and a half hours after we ordered to tell us that my husbands dish wasn't available. Then, my husband had to change his plate. After 20 minutes we finally got his dish but not mine. I had to wait one hour more for my dish. Terrible service. We usually come to Bolzano to visit family and will never ever come back to this restaurant.

The food is really good... from what I could tell, it's mostly salads and bruschetta but many different kinds. We had the gorgonzola and speck bruschetta I think. We went back the next day for more. I think it's only outdoor seating (under umbrellas and shade fabric). I doubt the area would accommodate more than 25 people but I'm guessing it's the kind of place that does not stand on formality and if more people show up, they will get squeezed in somewhere. The place used to be a fish market and there are two huge old marble fish-cleaning counters (fish banks???) that are very cool but seem like they take up an awful lot of space though I'm sure they are lines with food and drink when things get busy. This is where we were introduced to the Aperol Spritz, a popular low-alcohol drink popular in northern italy, made with Aperol (an orange-rhubarb Camparis-like aperitif) and proseco. Every other table had one of these... and they really are a good thing. This is a very specific kind of place... bohemian, quirky, low key... but have an aperol spritz (and a couple of beers) and kick back and watch the locals and tourists drift in and out of the place.

We sat outside on a lovely weekend night and enjoyed the Caprese salad, which had just enough pesto and an ample amount of mozzarella cheese. This came with potato chips (lovely?), two pieces of cured meat, some of the plumpest olives I've ever had, and a variety of breads. I'm not sure if it's just me that doesn't understand the regional breads but everything in the area was pretty hard and this was no exception. I didn't dislike it but I didn't totally understand it. The selection of wines is large, over 300 different wines in their shop. In addition to wine selection they have a full bar. My wife had an excellent gin and tonic. The local gin was very tasty. I was recommended a Kerner wine that was excellent. La Cercia has a nice selection of meats and cheeses that can accompany your wine / coctails. Overall a relaxing and nice experience.

The recommendation of the wine from our waitress was amazing and we all loved it. The carpaccio was also extremely good and I enjoyed it very much. Partner found this place, it's got a good vibe, as it is near the fresh market and there are lots of passers-by. Also the servers are multilingual - so far as I could see they spoke Italian, German and English, which is helpful. There were daily specials - partner took the fusilli with tomato and eggplant (€9) and I took the tagliatelle with chanterelles (€12). Homemade, delicious and flavoursome - perfect pasta! And in my opinion, good value! Definitely stop by if you're in Bolzano/Bozen!!
