The gentleman who took my order was very fast and efficient and made sure to repeat all my customizations back to me. This location is in a small plaza that only has one entrance and no left turn out of the parking lot. It can get a little hectic in there as there's also a Starbucks drive through line. There were a few other patrons waiting inside for their orders that night. It's actually kind of interesting that the 3 people in front of us ordered almost the exact same thing - a 12 piece family meal with 2 chicken sandwiches! A popular order so it must be good right? The chicken was piping hot and fresh. The skin was perfectly crunchy with the meat inside somehow being moist, tender, and very flavorful. I was able to get my order with all dark meat pieces and half mild, half spicy. I didn't try any of the spicy pieces. The meal came with 2 sides. I always get the cajun fries which were great as usual. This was the first time I was trying the mac and cheese and it was actually terrible. Not sure how macaroni and cheese can be that bad but it was. It was almost ice cold which was definitely a little worrisome. After nuking it in the microwave, I found that it had a really weird sweet taste to it. The biscuits were more dense than I'm used to but they still tasted okay. I finally got to try the chicken sandwich with no outrageous lines! I ordered one spicy and one mild to get the full experience. On the spicy sandwich, the piece of chicken itself was not spicy. It was only the sauce that added the real kick to it and I found it was too spicy for me to eat the whole thing myself. The mild sandwich was tasty though. The breading on the chicken was different from the breading on the pieces you'd normally get. If you really want me to compare to the Chick-Fil-A sandwich I'd have to say that the Popeyes sandwich might actually edge it out. The past few CFA sandwiches I've had featured soggy breading on the chicken though I do really love that sauce. All in all a decent visit so the rating is probably a 3.5 but I can't shake the mac and cheese nightmare lol.
