I have purchased many hats and stickers off Banana Ink's website but I have yet to go to their store front. After brunch we walked to this joint to see what kind of stuff they had. Walking in, you are slapped in the face with Idaho! I love living here and I love to see our state on every piece of merch in this joint. From the shirts to coffee mugs to patches, they have a little of everything for your Idaho lover. Banana Ink is your go to joint for that unique gift to take home for your out of towners. Or it's just a great joint to hit up for us Idaho loving locals. I would give this place 5 stars but the sales associate didn't acknowledge us once. She was chatting it up with someone when we were on our way out but not one hello or can I help you find anything. Nothing ruins a shopping experience than a rude sales associate. With an experience like today, I would rather purchase my stuff online. There's a golf hat and a Carhartt hat that's calling my husband's name. The hats have designs you want to wear and are not something you can buy everywhere. The shirts and hats are not cheap. This is a small place but the service and selection are good. Unfortunately, their return period is ONE WEEK even with a receipt, which was a bit shocking, although I later noticed it on my receipt. We went to Banana Ink on 11/15/24 with some friends from out of town. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we did not make any purchases. The reason, very low inventory of long sleeve shirts. There were sweatshirts but the women's were either crop or more tunic length. The lower level of the store (Idaho related products) was mostly short sleeve shirts. Not what we were looking for in November with temps in the 40's. We will go back because we love the store! read more

I discovered this gem when they sponsored the Big Lebowski at the Egyptian Theater. Talk about a win/win situation. Since then, I have spent a ridiculous amount of money at this amazing store. And all of it has been money well spent. One of a kind, unique gifts that I have sent to so many important people in my life who then came to visit Idaho because all the sudden it seemed cool. Which it is. And when I moved away, a lot of what I brought with me came from this amazing little place. Help, I need a shirt that says "Iowa" and shows a picture of Idaho. Or a baseball cap with someone fly-fishing on the snake river. An Idaho pendant necklace. A Boise postcard. Where should I go? Banana Ink. This little store has a great assortment of local merchandise that's just cool enough to not be dorky and won't make you feel like you're a dweeb for showing ID pride. While the store is small, everything there is high quality so all the products are worth checking out. The small selection means that you can also try on and see everything they offer so it's not overwhelming the way, oh, Zara, is. Prices are a little high but since they are supporting local artisans who make their goods and they're employing local people, it's hard to complain. The employees are always willing to help if you ask and have friendly personalities. This is a great place to bring your out of town relatives. Just don't let them buy anything--we don't need them to advertise our not-so-hidden gem any more! read more

I went to them for their broad selection of caps since they have a bunch of locally made, hip designs. Ended up at the Nampa location. The store feels like a boutique (small and personal) for Idaho clothing and stuff. Then I needed to go back to the store for a shipping box (which I should have just thought to get from them in the first place since what other place is going to sell a baseball cap shaped box?) so I went to the Boise location. I called first, and then went in and both times the service was so friendly and helpful It surprised me. (Maybe it shouldn't surprise me, but friendly service is not that easy to find anymore). They actually offered to ship the gift for me right there for a very reasonable fee, so problem solved! Service like this, which makes things easier or a more pleasant experience, is a big part of the reason I am trying to shop in smaller stores more often. Like another reviewer mentioned, product prices are not insignificant, but you are paying for something crafted, which I take into consideration. I couldn't afford to buy all my gifts there, but I would definitely go back when I need something Idaho-specific. read more

A little over-priced but because it's locally made and some cool products, it seems to be worth it. Went in around 9:55am on 9/28 to be treated rather poorly by one of the staff members saying "oh let me turn the lights on for you...." and I asked "oh I'm sorry, are you not open?" And she's said "um well we open at 10am..." (mind you it's 9:55am and the door is open. Planned to purchase several hats, stickers and sweatshirts but only left with one sticker.
