I could have selected a doctor in town but I decided it was worth driving to Rocky Hill to see Dr. Fote because he's super casual and lets the mother remain in control. I like the fact that he pretty much answers all my questions without making me feel like I haven't completed my homework because I asked. The staff at the office are extremely nice and understanding being a first time mom is not an easy task. My son had a BM and squirted on his first visit but they didn't blink an eye. I know those things are all expected but you would be surprised some children centered services still look at you with judgmental eyes if your child burps in public. The office is clean and the nurses are efficient. Scheduling seems flexible and their reminder system works out well for a busy working mother. The facility is very clean and everyone was very kind and helpful, especially to my child. I was very impressed with the follow up - they actually call you with test results! You can also access the results easily on the app. My child's initial test was inconclusive and the doctor worked with me on deciding next steps. I was really impressed with their thoughtful problem solving - my child was definitely not just a number to get in and out, they really cared about making her feel better. We had returned home by the time we realized she needed meds and they were able to call in a prescription to our home pharmacy. She is now on the mend - and we are so grateful to the PM Pediatrics team in Manchester! A tip - we also have a PM Pediatrics in our home area and the doctor in CT was able to see my child's previous visit records, which was very helpful. Despite their posted hours showing that they were still open, I felt like the physician there spent more effort trying to convince me to go to the ER than evaluating or treating me. It felt like getting out the door on a Friday night was taking priority over patient care. What bothered me even more was the lack of consideration for what that recommendation actually means to a patient. Sending someone to the ER instead of providing appropriate urgent-care treatment can mean a dramatically higher bill, a much longer wait, and unnecessary use of emergency resources. That financial and practical impact should matter when making a recommendation, especially when a patient has specifically sought out urgent care for a reason. My experience at A Walk-In Medical Center was the complete opposite. Dr. Calle was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough. What impressed me even more was that he remembered me from a visit years ago. I never felt rushed or like I was an inconvenience. I felt listened to and cared for. There is a noticeable difference between healthcare that feels driven by corporate KPIs and healthcare where the people still treat medicine as a responsibility to the patient. This office still feels like the latter. I'm very grateful to Dr. Calle and the staff for taking care of me when I needed it.

After consulting three other medical professionals the day after my visit, all three said while he didn't give dangerous advice it's clear the doctor does not have experience with children, and advised old and out dated medical techniques to treat my sons wound. This was my first and will certainly be my last visit to this place. Don't bring your kids here.
