5 Stars Impressive bodywork, thoughtful attention to detail, and prices you can't beat. Bamboo Creek Chinese Spa in Santa Paula just became my non-negotiable monthly reset. I've had massages all over -- from Los Angeles to high-end spas -- and this experience exceeded all expectations. I booked a combination session: deep tissue, hot stone, reflexology, and lymphatic -- and the attention to detail in every single modality was incredible. * Deep tissue: They worked with focused intensity, not just "pressing hard" but skillfully targeting the exact areas where tension lived -- especially in my back, shoulders, and neck. You could tell the therapist knew the body's anatomy and how to unlock muscle groups with precision. * Reflexology: This wasn't a generic foot rub -- this was intentional pressure point work that followed the full reflex map. I could literally feel the connection from my feet to other parts of my body. * Lymphatic massage: Gentle, rhythmic movements that supported circulation and detox. It's something so many of us overlook, but they made it part of the healing experience seamlessly. I also found out they offer cupping, and I'll absolutely be trying that next time. It's rare to find a location that integrates so many modalities at this level of skill -- and especially at these prices. I've posted a photo of the updated price sheet -- and trust me, you won't find rates like this in LA or any luxury spa. It's affordable, consistent, and you walk away feeling like your entire body has been rebalanced. Another standout detail? When you check in, they let you customize the session based on your needs and pressure preference. I chose a level 4-5, knowing I needed deeper work (especially with fibromyalgia), and while I'll likely be sore tomorrow, I feel 100% better already. Bonus: They also have a sister location in Ojai -- so even if you're traveling nearby, you have options. This place is a hidden gem, and I'm so incredibly grateful to have it right here in Santa Paula. If you're ready to take your self-care seriously, this is where you start. read more

GETTING HERE: This business is in downtown Santa Paula on Main Street. It is across the street from where The Draft at Mupu Grill is located (and the old Garman's). REVIEW: This is a rough update to write and I have been sitting on it for a little bit. First and foremost, even with c 19 and the whole "not using cash as much" thing, Bamboo Creek Spa prefers cash. I get it. But, sadly I didn't have cash on me at this time. Their sign that states the $2 fee for credit card use had fallen down near the check-out. I didn't know/nor did I expect the $2 fee. Honestly, I would have come back another day with cash had I known what I was going to experience after the massage. Massage was OK. Good, I guess. Huge language barrier unfortunately, so when I asked the woman for lighter pressure, she didn't appear to understand what I asked for and continued w/out a change. I asked her again a 2nd time for lighter pressure (I used a hand gesture hoping that would work) and it did. But, then she eased up too much and she was only lightly rubbing my feet with her fingertips. Meh. Had there not been such an issue with a language barrier I probably could have rated 4 stars. At checkout is where things went south. I was prepared, and expected to pay with my card and was going to tip her in cash. When the lady was about to ring me up she then included the $2 service charge, to my shock. (Now, I get the whole thing. This is not a place to argue discuss the sad state of our present world. My issue and great concern is that I was not told or informed a head of time about it.) This lady called for another employee and they began talking in their native language. The 2nd lady then took over my transaction and I felt bullied and attacked for my financial choice of how I wanted to proceed with payment once I was aware of the $2 service fee. It was a pretty good massage, otherwise. read more

I had a massage on mother's day and it was wonderful. I usually go to the Ojai location but they were booked out so, I tried the Santa Paula location Same vibe as Ojai. Clean and professional. The only drawback is it is not as quiet as the Ojai location. read more

Booked an appointment over the phone for some day. Place was easy fine, clean and staff was great. Would definitely go back

If you're a local and on a time crunch and don't feel like driving to Ventura or Oxnard, then this spot will suffice. It definitely was not "a spa like experience" however I was actually pleasantly surprised on how well my massage went. I was a little apprehensive as I don't frequent a lot of spots in this town however the massage Coco provided me was simply euphoric. Cost was reasonable as well! Definitely did the job given the circumstances. read more

Monday am empty at 11:00 am, I had a massage. Asked for light massage but she was too rough had to remind her a few times. The price agreed at was $50 for 1hr. Afterwards a paid $52.00 I had no change. But gave a large tip previous time. The lady said "NO, tip is $10.00." In a upset manner!!! She yelled at someone in the back to come up front and lady asked me to pay the $10. Isn't a tip a voluntary option?? Especially when you don't get what you asked for??? Well this lady said she'd walk me to my car to get my purse to pay the $10.00 I felt like a thief escorted to my car to pay for something I stoled! I paid with my last $20 and she still asked can I give you $5 back we have no change... Crazy ladies! I'm never going back!!!!! It's not the $ it's the principle... read more

I love this spot very relaxing best massage ever. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a great massage.

The only concern is a slight language barrier. Not normally a problem but it was hard to communicate regarding an old injury. Otherwise everyone there is GREAT! I have yet to walk away without feeling dramatically better read more

I was traveling on business and my back was really bothering me, did a walk in and was very pleased. Times were very clean and did but smell like someone just cooked something. I asked to switch from hard to medium. She was able to feel where I was tight and she concentrated on those areas. A couple times I caught myself falling asleep. I am really happy I came here and will definitely revisit on my next trip. read more

Ever since I moved to Santa Paula bamboo Creek spa has been my place to go. I came here a couple days ago with my nine-year-old and he was literally drooling he said the back massage felt so good I recommend everyone in town and out of town to come and visit this place read more

Relaxing atmosphere, yes. Clean, yes. Good massage, NO! I don't often write reviews on Yelp, but if I can save someone some money by telling you, go somewhere else! Unless maybe if you ask for someone other than the gentleman at the front desk. He did NOT know how to give a massage! I rated a 2 because there were a few moments the massage felt good, but overall, just NO! So, to the guy who was working Friday night, if you'd like to keep this business up and running, please go back for some more lessons in how to be an effective masseuse! Funny story: When I tried to pay him just for the service and no tip, he looked at the money in his hand like I paid him wrong and said, "No tip?" Here is your tip; People don't liked to be rub over and over and over again in the same spot until the skin is rubbed raw! Thank you. Thank you very much! read more

Today during my lunch hours, I decided to go down the street and try this new massage place. I walked in requesting the 30 min full body massage with concentration to my upper neck and back and showed them the extra 10-min-added-to-any-service AD for first timer. I ended up receiving a 40-45 minute massage for about 26$ including tip. At first I saw the young lady who greeted me and was worried that her skill and strength would not be up to par with the massive tension I have in my neck and shoulders. I requested a strength of 6 out of 7 and boy was I wrong! She was good! One of the best I had. She knew exactly where I was tight and where all my knots were and she worked extremely hard to break them down. I was happy with the service. Clean, minimal talking, pretty private rooms. They don't make you undress and they don't lather you everywhere with oil so you can return back to work looking half decent! I will be returning next month to splurge on another massage. I think 40 minutes is the perfect time! See you soon! read more

Tip : enter quietly and pay with cash. This place offers an amazing full body massage. Such a relaxing environment and wonderful people who will provide you with an amazing massage. read more

I was very happy with massage! I hadn't had one that was good since a vacation we went on and I was really happy how great it was! I will be returning... I also got a gift card for my hubby. read more

The massages are okay. What I don't like is that they change the price when it's time to pay. I have been here several times and they do the same thing every single time. They will ask you for a tip and they tell you how much they want. Now tip is optional, your already paying for the service and they don't conform to what you give them additional. Not coming here again they are crooks!!! Be careful coming here!! read more

So I kind of just went on a limb, I got a foot massage. I've never gotten any type of massage before but it wasn't as relaxing as I thought it'd be. But unfortunately just a couple days after I got a massage I got this pimple like thing on the side of my toe & it's so gross, it looks infected, so I have to go to the doctors this week. I have a feeling he might've not washed his hands after touching money & came back to massage my feet, so I definitely won't be coming here again. Plus they tried to force me to pay $10 in tip after I gave him $6 since it was all I had in cash, didn't have my wallet. They literally told me next time to take $10? I absolutely don't appreciate places that force you to tip, especially when it's a preset amount they choose for you, if the service was good value & I enjoyed it, of course I'll tip. But they just kept forcing it on me, so definitely will not be coming back here again, that's for sure. read more

I just had one of the best massages in my whole massage lifetime experiences. Lisa had just the right amount of pressure and worked out the knots in my neck and shoulders. I work out. I work a physically demanding job. I play video games for extended amounts of time. So I thought I was going into this with a few knots ... mother fucker was I wrong ! I had more knots than a pretzel stand. More knots than iPhone headphones in my pocket. More knots than berry farm. I was a knotty boy entering and I left a satisfied patron saint of feels good. I go in. They shuffle me to a room that smells good with a table that a hole for your face. They tell me to undress. I take everything off by my undies. Lay on the table, face down. Quiet secluded places always make me nervous. I quivered as he/she entered... The room. And then it begins. The massuse was strong yet gentle and rubbed me out so good. Hands of a strong burly man yet gentle like a lactating woman I don't want to assume genders. I left the establishment so satisfied. The strokes were hard and magnificent. I was so relieved when I left. The massuse had me yearning for more. I had to hand it to them. One of the best massages I've ever had. I left wanting more. I was a string of uncooked spaghetti and he dropped me in a pot of boiling water making me flexible once again. I do have some criticisms tho. The massuse only did me from behind. No work on my front side which left me halfway done. I only had the 40 minute package so that's probably why she stopped mid way. The door to the establishment was open so I could hear people outside which felt a bit intrusive to my session. The parking sucks because the establishment is on a busy street. The receptionist didn't speak enlgish that well and my fiance had trouble communicating her needs. The massage was 35 dollars for a 40 minute massge. This includes oil and hot stone treatment which was divine. 8/10 would come back. TL;DR great massage for a good price. Bad parking. Open doors so you hear shit. Bonus content: the massuse didn't mock me for laughing while she massaged my feet. read more

This place is a gem. Very tranquil and clean. Had a massage today from Li Li (sp?)--one of the best I've ever had. Went several times a few years ago and it was great. Very professional and a great value. read more

Do not recommend this place! I went to go get a massage and the guy on the reception was the one available when I had asked for a women and I believe I spoke with him over the phone. I went with my mom and they separated us into different rooms when they were 2 beds in one room. Anyways, it happens so fast and it seems like they did not understand a word I was saying. He wet me with oil and made me feel so uncomfortable! At the end he asked for a 14 dollar Tip for me and my mom. I denied and he kept insisting. I asked if it was mandatory?! And offered to Tip $10 as I just wanted to get out of there. He then accepted and seemed very upset. I was kind of scared towards the end as it was late. read more

Very economical prices and great service. Everyone here is very kind. Definitely continue coming here.

I was there on Tuesday night 5 pm....I booked an hour and asked for only female staff!!!! It was the worst massage I have ever had.... The young man working the desk should never be allowed to give massage... Or touch a clients!!!! Especially when the client asked for a female..... He covered me in so much oil. It was disgusting.!!!!!! I was very uncomfortable!!! He did not know what he was doing. And he kept using his elbows and grinding them into my back...!!!!! And I was already in pain... When I asked him to please be gentle... he would go ok ok ok... and then still grind into my back. He then lifted the blanket up so high that it was awkward trying to turn over.. and I ended up with a cramp in my back. This is not excepltable.... when I asked for him to rub my feet. He grabbed ahold of my big toe... and started yanking on my foot.... he ended my massage 15 minutes early!!!! And actually thank god. He did because I was .... Absolutely the worst.... Total waste of money and time don't go there.... many other great massage spots. read more

Go see Coco she is amazing. I went in with a stiff neck and couldn't even move it and left being able to move it again. She worked on all my knots as well. Very good and would definitely see her again. I've also seen other masseuses and all the women were great read more

The prices are more than fair and the establishment was sterile clean. The ambience is relaxing and makes you forget that you're in Santa Paula. We chose the Oriental hot oil massage with stones and it was amazing. They ask you prior for your level of comfort on the strength and pressure applied. Will definitely be a return customer. read more

I have gone to the Bamboo Chinese Spa several times having the foot massages, the chair massage and a shoulder/neck massages. This is a very professional massage place. They are very nice, do an awesome job as I prefer a more deep massage and I can totally relax as it is very quiet with very little conversation taking place. The therapist makes sure they are not rubbing too hard or too soft. I have also taken my Dad who has never had a table massage (here you lie down on the massage table with all your clothes on and they cover you with a sheet or towel and massage your back--no need to take anything off!). My Dad who had never had a table massage said it was great and really helped get the knots out of his hurting back. Their prices are super reasonable, it is also very clean and comfortable! read more

been here a few times. everytime i've been very unimpressed. well this last time just about did it for me. i got a hour massage. the lady was super rough. i asked her multiple times to be more gentle but she didn't care. not even joking the next day when i woke up i was in so much pain!! and then i go to pay, she asks if i want to tip on the card, i said yes $8. the lady goes oh no, can you do $10? i said suuuree. but isn't a tip optional?! they can't control their tip. i could've given her no tip. I will never come here again, the guy who did my massage made me feel so uncomfortable. I asked to be in the same room as my mom he said fine. But they separate us. He made me feel so uneasy. Don't come here. I didn't even enjoy the massage he was so creepy! Go somewhere else! read more

It's surprisingly very nice inside! Clean, peaceful and confortable. The massuese was very professional and delivered a wonderful soothing massage. The prices are a very reasonable and I think quite a bargain based on what you get. My wife and I have been to this place several times and have normally had great service. However we had a couples massage and after my wife told me that the male massage therapist made her feel uncomfortable. I was really upset to hear this and unfortunately will not be returning to this place again. I didn't get the name of this person but he was thin with tattoos on his arms. If you go here I would avoid this person if your a woman. I will be making a complaint against establishment. Too bad because we enjoyed going there. read more

Go there for a foot massage Clean and quiet . I don't think you can beat the price ! Depends on who you get for the quality . I suggest if you go often wait for your preference . English skills are limited so be prepared to know exactly what you want . The only negative I have encountered is when they stopped in the middle of my service to go to the front desk and then did not make up the time lost . They have another facility in town but that site is less private . Nice touch to give the customer water before treatment . As an aside good restaurant right next door just in case you want to really treat yourself ! read more

This was my second time going here and I felt a bit uneasy this time because, the first time I went I got a 15 minute chair massage from this lady. This time it was from a guy, I felt a bit uncomfortable as it seemed that he kept trying to touch my chest. Once it was over he demanded a tip as well. I found this unacceptable because, tips are not mandatory and should not be asked for. Previously my dad has told me to that they demand tips from him. I was surprised by this....I will not becoming back here EVER AGAIN!! read more

5 stars for the massage! However, the rooms are divided by curtain so while there's privacy you must whisper to your therapist if you don't want everyone to hear! But considering the price, that's a very small complaint. My therapist was Amy and she was very good. I never thought that Santa Paula would have anything like this. Give it a shot - I think you'll like it. read more

On the recommendation of a few friends my wife and I stopped by on our last date day, the only question was: why have we not come here sooner? They were amazing! Great service, great prices! We had intended to go in for a foot massage only but when we saw the prices and that we could do a combo reflexology massage for the same price we opted for the combo 60 minute massage. My wife felt very comfortable there, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our massages...I apparently enjoyed mine so much that I fell asleep. We will definitely be back again! read more

At first I wasn't sure of it, I got a 15 minute massage for $10 and it was great, then I came back for the oil massage and I loved the relaxing music, great peaceful environment and private rooms. I've been here around 6x (2 oil, 1 reflexology and 3 $10 for 15min).They give you a range of how hard you want the massage which I love. The one thing that sort of makes me uncomfortable is that sometimes I know what I want but some don't speak English which I have to point and gesture for what I want. It's close to home and above decent so I know I will return back read more

I gotta say I love this place, its close to home and the people are very kind, very clean and welcoming. If you want a good and affordable massage, I recommend this place. I definitely recommend this place! $65 for a 60 min oil massage and 30 min foot massage! Great price & was awesome. Staff are very nice! They don't speak much English so don't expect them to understand anything you say beyond picking out what service you want and how much pressure- didn't bother me, just a heads up because I heard another customer trying to ask about knots in her back. read more
