...BUYER BEWARE........ NEW MANAGEMENT BUT THE SAME FAMILY STILL OWNS IT. Four years ago, on a recommendation, I drove my 1979 Camaro into Baltria to have it completely rebuilt. Little did I know that I would be in for a 3 1/2 year nightmare with this company. Once they had my car apart I was at their mercy. I wound up pretty much having to beg them to work on my car for $100.00 an hour. While most of the work, when they got around to it, was good quality I felt like I was being overbilled for time and also gouged on the markups for parts. I decided to stick it out with them anticipating that since I had spent north of $150,000 dollars they would finally at some point deliver me a fully working car. Well I was wrong! When I finally got the car it had both major and minor mechanical issues wrong with it. A week or so before my car was supposedly finished they called me and said they were going to move my car to their Dekalb shop. Once they had my car out there I was informed that it was a new company "The Classic Auto Factory" and they would not stand behind any work that was previously done over the past 3 1/2 years. They said to take it to Baltria and talk to the new owner. Well, the new owner just so happens to be former owner Darius Gringaliunas's father . As of now, Baltria has no service department and even if they did there is no way in hell I'd trust these scammers. If you choose to ignore my review and do business with Baltria or "The Classic Auto Factory" in Dekalb make sure you have zero expectations of them standing behind their work or the cars they sell. Get everything in writing, like prices, estimates, and warranty, or expect to be screwed. During my time dealing with Baltria, the employee turnover was huge and their showroom windows were both shot out and broken with bricks on two separate occasions. Obviously, I'm not the only one who has felt cheated by Darius and his family. !!!!!!BUYER BEWARE!!! P.S. A picture is worth 1000 words! read more

Baltria - Car Dealers Near Me - St. Charles, Illinois

Purshashed Jeep from Dan Dugo. I was told there was a new computer, antenna, front end work, battery, headliner, and the list goes on installed on the Jeep. I live out of state and had the Jeep delivered to me. The Jeep looked better in pictures and needed a re-built transmission and full HVAC System (EVAP/Heater Core). I understand it is 24 years old, but they're inspectors should have caught this stuff. The reason for the pop rating, I've been waiting on my receipt of work for 9 months now. They sent me one 3 months ago and it was missing things they "fixed" like the automatic antenna that has already broken (if it's under a warranty from the manufacturer I'd like to know, so I can replace it). Also the "new ECU computer" they installed is not new and corroded and has left me stranded. Dan was nice to work with, but I'd like a receipt and information on what work was done on the Jeep. read more

We just purchased a beautiful Mercedes SL 600 from Dave at Baltria. It is in great condition and working with Dave was a real pleasure to work with. His price was fair and he stands behind what he sells- a true car guy who demonstrates integrity and pride in his work. We will definitely be returning customers. Baltria took excellent care of me and my car. I am a very happy customer! Communication was consistent, easy to understand, no hidden tricks or fees, and i felt like a VIP! I would recommend Baltria to anyone who is looking to be treated right! Also, the prices were reasonable and the staff is extremely professional. We will be returning to service our other cars, when the time comes! Thank you, Baltria! read more

I bought a car they chipped the paint upon delivery then ignored me after. Further I was told the car was in great shape I'm still sorting it outI would not recommend buying anything from them! read more

Called and asked if they were open until 4pm was asked if I would be coming for the sales area and I stated yes and the gentleman said yes we are open until 4. When I arrived at 2pm and wanted to gain access to the inside area to view the vehicle I would really like to have considered to purchased I had to call their phone number again and was told I would have to make an appointment to view the vehicle when there was no one else there inside or outside looking at vehicles. It was very disappointing. read more

This is a business that tries to do a good job to fix your classic car. But sometimes it seems they have not tried to fix some of the problems you bring to them. They do try to be fair about the time charged to your bill. I am still willing to work with them but do not expect to get your car back any time soon. Most of this is not their fault. Old car parts are not just down at Auto Zone! read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS "DEALERSHIP". It pains me to even call it that. Al Weik really screwed my family and I over. I reached out to this company to purchase a 1955 Thunderbird. The description AND Al both told us it was running and drivable. Al also told us the body was in great condition and free from rust. He made sure to keep reminding me how great of a deal I was getting by purchasing this car for $18,000, because "it would be going for no less then $25,000 if it was summer time". I wanted to buy this car for my dad because it was his life long dream and he is not in good health. As soon as the vehicle arrive to our property, it wouldn't even start to back off the tow. My husband took the car to two repairable classic car restoration services (one of which didn't even want it staying overnight in his shop because of safety issues with the electrical he discovered) and the other walking us through step by step all that was wrong with the vehicle, estimating upward of 40,000-50,000 to repair correctly. When we tried to discuss the issues with Al and the dealership, we were told we should have had someone tied to come there and do our own inspection and essentially they were at no fault. I might as well flushed $18,000 down the toilet read more

There is nothing good I can say about this company. I finally took a several thousand dollar hit and got my car out of there before they could cause any more damage! originally it was supposed to take a couple of weeks to install a rear quarter manel on mt GMC Sprint. first the never bothered to weld it in place, just a few zip screws they installed a new vinyl top, poorly! They tried to give me a beat up old windshield with no antenna, then finally "found" my windshield and mangled the chrome to install it! charged me two grand extra to paint the other side too, but they never painted it! They left a coating of overspray all over the entire car, inside and out! They dented my hood, using it as a shelving unit or work bench while they worked on another car in the shop. The gaps in the tailgate are 1 inch on one side and 3/4 of an inch on the other. They had to put washers behind the latches to get it to close! they didn't know how to drive a manual valve body transmission and burned out a solenoid in the transmission. after 18 months of 'Next week' I finally took it home, I simply couldn't afford to leave it at Baltria and let them continue to keep making it worse. Not a single thing they did to my car in 18 months was done correctly! I'm sorry there isn't enough room to put all the problems I had in a review. To be blunt they ruined my car and it makes me sick every time I look at the shoddy work they did on my car! I should have left the dent in the quarter panel, even with a big dent, It looked better than what Baltria did to it! the car had no taillights They simply left the wiring mangled ang hung the quarter panel over the harness in a way you can not get to the damage! They installed wiring for the back up lights , but cut the wire several inches too short and threaded it wrong, so the hinge cut it, shorting out the light circuit and blowing the fuse. the airshock hose was cut, also. So there was no rear suspension. there was dirt embedded in the frame with fresh green grass growing in it! I had to sneak up on Dan Dugo or he would have 'Just left" He claimed to have parts shipped to my home. there are 3 cameras facing my front porch. There was no delivery of said parts! the vinyl top has chrome strips that won't stay on they fall off over night just parked in the garage! read more

On 10/27/17 I completed my bill of sale agreement with Dan Dugo, paperwork was then signed and emailed. I was planning on flying up to Chicago on 11/1 to pickup my Rolls Royce Silver Spur 1989 model. Originally the website showed this vehicle was a 1990 Silver Spur and due to this error I still accepted to purchase the vehicle. Deposit to secure Rolls Royce was completed on 10/27. On 10/27 I also called my Insurance and Finance company to file paperwork and FedEx documents to Finance Company. On 10/30 I then got a email from Mr. Dugo that he need to speak with me, so we spoke around 11am EST. I was advised that the bill of sale price could NOT be done due to Mr. Dugo selling the vehicle for too low a price. The Owner- Darius Grigaliunas was furious that Mr. Dugo offered the vehicle for lower than asking price. They then wanted me to pay more, I said no that we agreed to set price and bill of sale was signed and deposit was sent, in addition to finance company paperwork. Mr. Dugo then told me he would call the owner- Darius Grigaliunas to advise of conversation. At 1:30PM EST I was then called by Mr. Dugo who told me the deal was cancelled. This is a breech of contract!!!! Do NOT do business with them!!!! read more

Have been waiting for a car to shop for two weeks, after payment was made communication has been horrible!

Eh, this place stinks. They do marginal work and over charge. In my experience this company doesn't finish their work and is negligent with their work and your money. Better work can be done pretty much anywhere else and it'll be easier on your wallet. read more

I was negotiating/discussing purchasing a vintage car in Baltria inventory by phone and email for several days with Nathan/Dan. Advised them I was very interested and had arranged financing and an inspection and gotten pricing on shipment to California. At no time did they ask me for a deposit or I would have provided one. I know how car dealerships work having spent my career in the auto biz. I got a call saying someone put a deposit on it and it was no longer available. They refused to rectify the situation despite all of our back and forth communications. Apparently the internal communication between staff (Dan/Nathan) is very poor. Also prompt return of phone calls is lacking. read more

I bought a car from these people and regreted it immediately. Took almost a month to get my title (I paid cash) and they lied to me many many times before and after I got it. Please be warned and protect yourself from them. read more

After several months of back and forth I thought I could trust them. Ask of the car was mechanically sound and for pictures of the interior. Was told it starts and stops and runs as it should, ask does the AC work and told yes. Had to pay to have car delivered several states away. Delivered car wrong day, first day out it dies and have to be towed. Once in shop find out some hack had worked on it mismatched fuel injectors, rigged up repairs etc. Called to them they misrepresented the sale and was told its as is but in an act of good faith would pay the towing, of course that didn't happen either. Mechanic who worked on the car believes they may have altered the mileage. Says the engine and parts appears to be far more than the odometer indicates. If I can verify this I may pursue them for this illegal act. Avoid purchasing anything from them unless you take it to mechanic and have it inspected. They are not an honest operation. read more
