Visited here on a Monday early evening at 6pm. This place when it first opened during the 1990's was a breath of fresh air for Huddersfield's Indian restaurants, the breads were fantastic and all the food is cooked in front of you, I even went to Balooshai when it was in Honley before moving to here.
I visited here with my wife and our daughter in a buggy - there were no other customers in there and the Manager? looked inconvenienced by our buggy. hardly fair when the restaurant was totally empty all it takes is to move a couple of tables to one side taking 10 seconds!
Food was pretty good/average, not outstanding, and the menu has not changed since they first opened which must be 20 years ago! They need to look at cutting edge restaurants in Manchester and Leeds/Bradford for inspiration.
Average price overall, 4 bottles of kingfisher and starters and mains with a couple of naans took the bill to £35.
Decor shabby and needs a refurb - again same as 20 years ago.
Won't be going back due to rude arrogant young manager. As we left there was still no one in there. If you can afford to be unhelpful to paying customers when your restaurant is empty you deserve all you get! read more
