On the corner in middle of the old town of Cambados is El Rincon do Tio Paco (the corner of uncle…read morePaco). On a sunny day you can sit on the terrace and even have a view over the Ria de Arousa. The menu mainly consists of fresh fish, paella or rice dishes. There are also some tapas and meat dishes. We chose paella, with sea fruit and meat. There were also variations with veggies or lobster. The paella is served like it should be: in a pan coming straight from the stove. It is dished up on a side table and served out by the waiter. Quite a service! The taste was ok, not the best one I have ever tasted. And to my surprise the chicken I was thinking I was eating, was rabbit!!!! Not my taste. There are some homemade desserts (like cheesecake or flan) and Italian ice team. The nicest thing about this place was the fact that both the waiter as well as Paco himself (the owner) were super friendly to our little 2 year old boy running around. They even indicated we did not have to get up from our table when he ran of towards the road in front of it. We actually could relatively peacefully eat our meal.

Cafeteria Brothers is located at this square. This is a good spot to catch some sun and just sit in the shade and watch Galician life going on. Brothers has the standard things a bar offers: drinks and some little snacks (like crisps). One of the assets bis the snacks you get with your drinks: with only one sparkling water I got nuts, crisps and a bocata (a small bread with a topping). With coffee you get sweet things like pastel. Some days there is a little podium for musicians. There is no tapas menu, so just come here for the drinks! What I like about this square is that you will barely find any strangers (like yourself) and you will be surrounded by locals who go here at night to meet their friends and family. For me a holiday does not get any better, just enjoying these simplicity of normal life: a nice drink, kids laughing, birds chirping, sun on your skin.
