After 3 years of Holiday Inn dropping service, rude, careless and reducing housekeepers and…read morebreakfast standards I went to Best Western. What a blessing. Here it feels comfortable. I'm not feeling like an interruption. Burden. I enjoy room 229. Ever day full housekeeping. Very rare today from the Palazzo to anywhere. Breakfast daily with care. Biscuits and gravy daily and thick gravy, menu daily by the front desk. No hidden agenda. No bait n switch agenda. Today most hotels blame corporate office for the rules. Not here. This place is wonderful. No ghost policies. Every stay full service. Your welcomed, greeted, and asked about your stay daily. If you are busy, they see this and let you be on your way. Not ignored like at HIE. Pools are very nice. Quieter than the HIE off the off ramp into Sterling. Jake brakes all night at HIE, this hotel is faced properly facing and silent. Thick walls. Great water pressure. Soap chips. Towels nice and fluffy. Clean, just clean. Mopping everyday and smells like it.

Ryan at the front desk was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we checked in seamlessly. We even left the lights on in the car and he called up to let us know. As soon as you check in there is coffee, water, juice, cookies and even some doggy treats. Breakfast was great and the lady who was there was so attentive and always refilling and ensuring everything was clean. I appreciate all the staff here and 10/10 recommend.

I am not kidding you when I say this is my favorite B&B in the country -- the best I've ever been…read moreto! Once upon a time I was in graduate school and doing a lot of work out in western Nebraska -- Imperial especially. On my first trip out, following the habits of my research group, I went to make a reservation at the motel in town, which was full and whose staff recommended I check the Balcony House. I am eternally grateful. My entire research group's enthusiasm for traveling to Imperial improved after this event. Jim and Linda are fantastic hosts. Their home is unbelievably charming and well cared for. I've stayed with them probably a half-dozen or more times (I think I've slept in every room), and each time I am in awe of their business. Fresh coffee and cookies, always. Linda is the most exceptional cook, whose meals make my mouth water thinking of them now. One time I was there, Linda had injured wrists, and Jim was in charge of breakfasts. Those were outstanding too -- though he quickly admitted that if you stayed longer than three days, you'd start getting repeats. There was one time that I was coming to Imperial and they were FULL (stupid hunting season!). I had to stay at that motel after all, even after vowing I never would. You know what Jim and Linda said? They told me to COME OVER FOR BREAKFAST anyway, even though I would be staying at the motel. They are the salt of the earth. I am so very fortunate to have gotten to know them over the years. p.s. If you're in town for a lunch, I *love* M&M's Natural Jazz. The Reubens (regular and turkey) are spectacular. If you're gluten-free, they got you covered. Imperial is a special place. I wish I still had excuses to visit regularly.

Get off I-80 and go through Imperial on your way west and you will be greatly rewarded. You will…read morebe welcomed like old friends and made to feel right at home. Balcony House is a little touch of home along the way west. The owners make you feel right at home and the breakfast is Great. We will always make this a stop on our way to Colorado.

I don't normally review hotels unless they are exceptionally good or exceptionally bad…read more Unfortunately, people do need to know about this hotel. We could have used some notice. We had checked this hotel on Yelp before staying and did not find any red flags, or any reviews at all in the last two years. However, after our stay, we checked Google Reviews and found many red flags. Guess we will be checking Google from here on out. Talking with a staff member, we understand that the hotel has been under renovation for 8 months so far, and will likely be under renovation for months more. Apparently the new beds have been on backorder for 12 months so far. They are renovating in stages. Fortunately, they have finished replacing the carpets already and there is no longer a lot of dust. However, the partially renovated rooms still have issues even with the replacements. We stayed in Room 200. Hilton App showed us checked in but we were not. We needed to check in manually. During our stay the key card system was not working and we had to be let into our rooms by staff. Bagged waters were not provided the night we stayed but were being offered to new people the next morning. Our stay here was the worst experience of the Hampton Inns on our 3000 mile road trip. Personally, we won't stay here again. We will stay either in North Platte or Cheyenne. PROS: 1. Windows do a decent job of blocking the freeway noise 2. The shower is new 3. The carpets are new 4. The couch and chairs are new 5. There is a bed 6. There is working AC 7. The door does lock 8. Water does work 9. Elevator does work 10. Staff was kind CONS: 1. The hotel is the closest hotel to the freeway. 2. Only one elevator 3. New shower drain was clogged already and drained very slowly, leaving us showering in a lake 4. Old shower head was not adjustable in any direction or flow rate or pattern 5. Toilet seat hinge was broken, tilting the seat 6. Toilet was too close to bathroom door, so that you had to close the bathroom door to sit down 7. Bathroom door drifted closed always and would hit you on the toilet. Bathroom door needed to be all the way open or hard closed. 8. Shower light took a long time to fully come on. Shower/toilet room was completely dark otherwise. 9. Beds were old, hard, and really uncomfortable 10. All room number signage is not mounted on the wall yet, it is sitting on the floor 11. Bathroom sink hot and cold are reversed 12. Shower temp varies A LOT and could scald you if you turn it up too far when it dips cold

Breakfast was good - oatmeal, sausage, banana, and English muffin filled me up. Service was great. We were met at check in by a very friendly host.
