I really enjoyed visiting Kilmainham Goal, it gave me a insight on how it must of been like to be a prisoner in the strongholds of punishment. It first opened in 1796, Kilmainham goal was called the new goal back then. The goal closed in 1924.
Kilmainham goal is a very large unoccupied goal sited in Ireland. The goal is a one of many historical buildings in Dublin. Many Famous films were filmed in the goal such as The Italian Job, In the Name of the Father, The Quare Fellow, and one of the lastest films made there is called The Escapist.
The goal has a museum loacated on the premises, which I also went to see, as it gives you an insight on the Irish Heritage.
I got to know a lot about the history involved of the Irish leaders betweens 1798 and 1916, the tour guides were great at explaining things in a lot of detail.
I would go again for sure. :-) read more
