We joined people strolling, walking their dogs or like us, walking off lunch. We only walked the trail between the Pacific Lighthouse restaurant and the Marina Village Yacht Harbor office. The green lawn area only extends between these 2 points but the trail seems to go past that, probably all the way around the island. Perhaps this is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail? The park faces the mainland, almost directly across the channel from Jack London Square. As such, while chilly, the park seems to be protected from the worst weather because it faces away from the open waters of the Bay.

We did sit at tables, and unlike some places, they weren't covered in excrement. So I did find a place. There were a lot of "friendly" squirels. They must be used to people feeding them. They'd come quite close. But all in all, it was fine. Probably won't go back. It's so far out of the way and for ease, I'd rather just go down to the beach.

They put up a "No swimming allowed" sign up near the Lagoon, which is hilarious considering how much 'stuff' is in that water. There are BBQ pits, benches and tables nearby. Mulford Point Park is up close to the water's edge. one get here after passing the golf course…read morewhere lots of swans? are busy chomping on the grass/insects, Horatio's, an El Torito whose faded signage is barely visible. the roads in this area are poorly maintained, with unseen potholes. it's unwise to to come here during stormy/bad weather/evenings when visibility/lighting will be a problem. the parking lot has a few lived in automobiles thereon. the scenery at the Point is breathtaking, u can see the san francisco skyline. there's also a few standalone trees that could be mistaken for cousins from pismo beach. use caution exiting the Park, it's one way though no visible signs are posted.

It's so pretty and relaxing while you sit and watch the planes fly in and out of the Oakland airport. The water is absolutely beautiful, but just be careful to not step on people's throw up. I guess someone was out having too much fun and got a little too drunk. Sadly, the submarine memorial wasn't there when we showed up. I guess it must have either gotten stolen or someone must have broken it. Hopefully, it was only taken away to get repainted or something. There's plenty of parking, but cell reception is pretty spotty.

This is a public boat ramp and a section of the public Shoreline trail that runs all around the San…read moreFrancisco Bay. It's also a beautiful place to access the Breakwater that people can walk out on and fish off of. The public Shoreline Trail leads you to the USS Hornet and the old shipyards in Alameda. The sign says that you only supposed to use it to launch boats but there was a contradicting sign that says it's an access point for the Bay Trail and everyone comes back here to kick back anyway.

OK, who took the shoreline? I guess I'm missing the point of this 22-acre regional shoreline since…read morethere really isn't access to a shoreline. You can definitely see the bay through the monster cranes, but you're not allowed onto the land banks you would think would be part of the rationale for coming here. Actually there are two other reasons for driving to the end of Burma Road and taking advantage of the parking lot built here. The first is to walk to the semi-hidden observation pier made from old bridge pylons. If this was a more touristed area, this would be the start of a worthwhile attraction. As sturdy as the pier looks, it felt unfinished to me because there is sparse seating and little else to do but look westward toward the eastern expanse of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. The second reason is to take the Bay Bridge Trail either west to Treasure Island or east toward the MacArthur Maze. Beware of speeding cyclists in either direction. But back to the shoreline itself, I'm not sure if the plan is to open up the banks and connect with the Middle Harbor. It's still a working hub for cargo ships, so I'm not sure that'll ever happen. I checked out Judge John Sutter Regional Shoreline in Oakland that recently opened to the public…read more Put in 210 Burma Rd, Oakland and you'll get to the Free parking lot that has lots of parking spots. There are 2 unisex bathrooms, inside is a flushed toilet, tp, sink, hand dryer, No hand soap. Follow the sign for Observation Pier to get to the park. There are lots of information signs and some benches and even some wooden tables. It's close to the bike/Ped Bay Bridge Trail so we did that too, only 2.25 miles one way.
