I think paying $113 for changing a fuel filter that you provide is nothing short of robbery. They got me once NEVER again !!

A regular "Joe's Garage". They charged me $40 dollars for a lube, oil and filter. I asked a guy…read morenamed Jeffery over the telephone a day or two afterward if he lubed the chassis points on my car with a grease gun and he acted like he didn't even know what I was talking about. If you want conventional oil, you have to tell these folks or they will charge you double for this fancy synthetic crap even in an old vehicle. These gougers want "100- 300 dollars" for a simple automatic transmission and filter change. This is a job that should take no longer than one half hour. I bought the parts needed to do this at O'Reilly's to save a bunch. I did this service at home. The parts filter kit for my 1995 Toyota Corolla and ATF costs me under $50. I was a fleet truck mechanic in the Army. I feel sorry for old ladies and handicapped men in town who can't work on their own automobile as I can do. It's a shame as to what these shops are doing price-wise. This town seems full of shady yay-hoos who are literally robbing poor, disabled and elderly fixed-income people who drive cars. I see a lot of churches here in town. Maybe these crooks should stop in on Sunday mornings and pray for forgiveness. Yesterday, I was under my car to service my own transmission. I was appalled at the cowboy work I witnessed done by this dubious cat, Steve Powers at Midas. There was oil dripping off the white NAPA oil filter and oil residue all over my engine oil pan. It scared me. I thought i had an engine oil leak or Midas did not install my filter tight enough. I thought maybe they forgot to put a coat of oil residue over the filter gasket as professional mechanics should have been trained at school. I wiped everything down with a rag in solvent and kept under observation for a day. So, far so good. No oil leaks apparent. Shame on Midas "techs" for not wiping down everything thoroughly to clean up any oil spills on the automobile underbody. Work is not complete unless a mechanic CUBY's. Clean Up Behind Yourself. Yes, Bill, the service writer, this is John Bailey the customer who came in not long ago for the oil change, headlight adjustment and brake inspection. I had the dark blue '95 Toyota Corolla DX sedan. It's nice you gave me a paltry 10% veteran's discount but, as a former trade, I was once a professional fleet truck mechanic in the Army and a service tech at Chevron full-servce back in the 1990's in California. It seems as you Southern boys do shoddy work and rob folks blind. Leaving the underside of the car a mess after an oil change. Come now!
