Extremely dissatisfied! 2 years into the process of buying and placing my dad's bench on his plot,…read moreabsolutely zero progress! Zero communication. Within the week of my dad's passing we met with cemetery staff and chose the bench- size, color, engraving etc. We were offered the option and chose to make a payment plan. Shortly after, we went back in to confirm the engraving and quote, only then were we advised that the bench would not be ordered until it was fully paid for...in our case FIVE years. This should have been addressed when offering us the option to make the payment plan! We made other arrangements to pay it off within a few months, which we did. The day we paid it off we approved the bench proof for accuracy, we were then told it would be about 9+ months for the granite to come in. More unexpected delay. With no communication over the months, we went back in, thinking it should be any day to schedule placement. Come to find out our salesman was no longer there and NO ONE was overseeing our contract. We inquired with the one available person on when we would be able to place the bench and my dad's cremated remains into it. Surprise... it had NOT been ordered! They said we had not confirmed the proof. (Which we did) so there it sat. Nothing accomplished. We again approved the color, size, engraving, and spelling in hopes it would be promptly ordered...... since we have more time, we took the opportunity to submit higher quality photographs for the small oval pictures to be added to the bench. (which has nothing to do with getting the granite in from Norway and engraving it!) Six weeks since submitting the new photos, still no communication, we've checked in 2-3 times for a proof on the photos. Nothing! Since they have not gotten back to us on this part of the process, we still don't know if the granite has even been ordered yet. So 2 years in we have absolutely nothing, zip, zero, nada. It will be another 9 months to a year IF everything was guaranteed to begin today. This entity owns and controls the majority of Spokane's cemeteries so they apparently don't care about their obligation to follow up and do due diligence for their clients. Especially in this industry, it's extremely distasteful to do business this way. Make your arrangements elsewhere if you can.

Her great grand parents were buried in Greenwood Memorial Terrace but the graves weren't marked. Kelly from the office looked them up and printed off giant maps. He could have stopped there. But he left a busy office and walked us out to the exact locations. The area where our kin are buried is a "non-endowed" section of the cemetery. They do no maintenance. No upkeep at all. It's like being buried in the woods. It is hauntingly beautiful. No tailored lawns. Primitive elegance. They let families put up their own temporary markers or you can pay to have something permanently placed. It all seemed very reasonable. And Kelly was so great about tromping around with us when there wasn't any payoff. It's exactly the sort of treatment we would all want no matter what our situation.

So My grandparents were in touch with funeral home and said they would cover whatever but wanted 80 percent of his body once cremated (which ex wanted cremation). The funeral home agreed to this. My grandparents paid for 2 viewings, cremation, pendants engraved with ashes (very expensive) They then had the ashes sent from Spokane to Missouri. The urn was opened not even 15 percent of ashes in there. Come to find out gave all the ashes to his ex. Idk if the funeral just said all that and didn't except us to check the ashes received. But I thought it was very terrible of them to conduct business that way. I do not recommend this place. And I suggest everyone check your urn to ensure your getting what your suppose to.

I went to Riplinger Funeral Services because they handled one of my parent's services 35 years ago, and the owners were very compassionate and caring. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience. I was under stress the entire time, because it turned out that they were working with another sibling behind my back, and I didn't find out that the other sibling had signed off on the document until after I paid the funeral home. They even had the audacity to call the life insurance company to find out who the beneficiary was at my sibling's request, creating a deeper fracture in an already fractured relationship. Riplinger certainly isn't the same family business it was 35 years ag.
