I stayed here for four days while visiting London. I'll say I definitely had mixed feelings about…read morethis hotel the first day but by the second day, I'd come to like it. For starters, all staff members we interacted with were friendly which is just a must this day and age. Our room itself looked nice but had such a strong cigarette odour. When we informed the staff we asked for a nonsmoking room, they did say they were trying to air it out by leaving the window open (which explained the flies I saw flying around in the room). Although this is something that should've never happened in the first place, they did change us to another room right away. The new room was nice but was literally smaller than my entire bedroom at home. For two guests with luggage, it was pretty claustrophobic. From where my bed was, I literally had to hop over a chair (as we had a chair in the middle of the two single beds with a fan on it) to get to the washroom. There was no AC in the room (which I really don't know how that's legal in June when it gets so humid outside), hence why we had to request a fan that didn't work half the time. Our view from this room was that of what looked like a junkyard (construction was being done right outside our window). By day two, we had grown accustomed to "our little box"'of a room and looked forward to coming back to our room after a day out on the town. Other than the above, our room was clean and modern looking. Our washroom looked renovated but I have to say the shower was so narrow, you couldn't even stretch your arms out. If you're on the obese side, don't even think about getting in that shower. Even as an average size person I struggled with the shower so that's something to keep in mind. I will also point out that our cleaner wasn't the greatest. The only thing we noticed was made beds, emptied garage, and toilets paper rolls and towels replenished. Our sink remained dirty the whole time as you could still see a ring of dirt around it and our carpet was a bit on the sticky side for some weird reason. Even though there may seem to be a lot of negatives in this review, the biggest positive was that the location of the hotel is so convenient to everything you need as a tourist. It's right beside a McDonald's, close to both Over and Underground stations and bus stops as well. To give you some perspective, we got to Piccadilly Circus in about 20 minutes and Gatwick airport in less than an hour which is amazing considering previous experiences we've had other times traveling to the airport. Would I stay here again? Depends on the room. If we got something like the first room they initially gave us, minus the cigarette odour obviously, for sure! I wouldn't want to stay in a box of a room again for the price we paid.

The room is small but clean, toilet & shower clean & functional. It has a TV, iron & board, tea/coffee making facility in the room, also a large fan, as I'm on 3rd floor, it's pretty warm. Continental breakfast is included, that's tea/coffee/orange juice, cereal & toast. Free wifi & PAYG computer in reception. No bar but a Tesco just up the road to get beer/food if required. It's about 200m from clapham south tube so ideal to get into city on the northern line. I used it as a base to visit London, cheap, clean & ideal location suited my needs. Would use it again for the same purpose.

It's a super close walk to the clapham south stop if you need it. Within walking distance is a tesco grocery store and costa coffee. The staff is helpful. They don't allow early check in but are willing to help order a taxi or help with directions. Booking.com said my stay included breakfast and wifi but it did not and they wanted payment for each. It's the most affordable stay in clapham with a small but clean room. If you're open to an affordable, simple but safe, this is a decent option.

Look out for the friendly pub dog -- Max! Enjoyed classic English breakfast with black pudding and baked beans, as well as beer battered Haddock with crisp chips, crushed minted peas, and tartar sauce. Everything was beautifully plated and the surrounding of sage painted wood paneled walls added to the experience.

We came specifically to see Max, because she follows him on Twitter. This place seems like it's always busy, but it was easy to make a reservation online. The service is standard for England, not as fast as attentive as American service but that is normal. I had the ham hock and it was outstanding. The meat is tender and just right. I don't eat ham very much if ever, so it was a pleasant surprise. They have a good variety of beer insiders on tap. It's kind of pricey, but the food choices are quirky and delicious. Great place to go just off the common for an outside meal!

First…read moreof all they are not registered with ABTA so if there are any problems, you will struggle to receive any financial reward. You also have to book flights separately, therefore it's not classed as a package holiday. The location of the villa was incorrect on their website and you could not walk to any shops/bars as stated in their description of the property. This was acknowledged by them after I made a complain on our return. We ordered a take away one night and even the delivery driver couldn't find it and the local rep had to provide directions. The villa was quite close to next door which had been rented out to a man who was arriving a couple of days after his children who came over and warned us they were having a party. The noise was horrendous. We did put in a complaint to the local rep who asked us to phone her if there was any further noise. We didn't as would she of really come out at 3am in the morning - I doubt it. Olivers Travels are quite crafty and they only introduce you to the property owners, therefore devolving them of all responsibility. They did suggest giving us one nights accommodation back (£317) but this was declined by the villa owners. Due to my negative experience with Oliver Travels, I would never book with them again and i suggest you take heed before deciding to book through them. This particular villa is also advertised on other websites so I should of checked other sites first (although the villa is called by different names)!
