He was very responsive in texts and when he got here, I spent 45…read moreminutes asking him questions and then he spent the last 15 teaching us how to teach my puppy how to sit. I gave him the 50 bucks for the hour and then before he left, he said he gives free text advice. I texted him a few weeks later and told him I was having issues with the dog waking me up early in the morning by yapping. I asked if he could help us teach her how to bark on command so we can quiet her on command (like I saw in Youtube videos and by reading dog books). He said that method will not work. So I asked "So you don't think there's anything you can help with in this field?" and he said "I don't think we are on the same page. I'm trying to help you, but you are asking for things to change quickly and it's just not going to happen that fast. Take care and good luck." ???? WTF? I don't get it. It's not like I expected him to help us solve the problem in one session! I was asking for him to come over, teach us some stuff that can help her with her yapping, and then he leaves and we continue training her for the next few weeks like we did with the sit command! I did not say anywhere in my texts that I want it to happen ASAP, I just wanted some tips on what we should be teaching her going forward to train her to stop yapping. I have a very special little dog who…read moreneeds a lot of training and attention to help overcome her behavioral challenges and they not only understood what to do immediately, we've been making steady progress since we first met everyone. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.
