Then about (5) sets of stairs to the top. Yes, a damn shame there is so much graffiti on the tower. However, it's not in your face w/ bright colors. Ignore it and take in the immense view. This is a better vantage point of both lakes Winnipesauke and Wentworth. Higher up too. I came on a cloudy day and it was still breathtaking. Pair this with the Wright WW2 museum and you have a solid day.

However, when we climbed back down, we decided to take a different marked trail that was less steeper than the way we came. The trail took us to a private property that was someone's backyard. The ice cream was good and they offered pup cups. I got a grilled cheese and it was simple and didn't have much flavor for $14+. You can go into the carriage house for restrooms and more food options. To see or get anywhere near the castle you have to purchase a $23 ticket and take a trolley to the castle. I had my dog with me and they do not allow pets. The do allow service animals. I wasn't even allowed to go take a picture or peak at the castle. LAME! There is a gift shop that is okay. I was going to get an ornament but didn't want to pay an exorbant amount for a place I never really got to see. Definitely didn't want to support them that way. Maybe it would have been different without my dog, but as a traveler from out of state I didn't have many options and was only passing through the state.

This is a difficult excision, and the trail may be wet, and even in rock climbing shoes is slippery. There were also orange slugs everywhere, which with foot hold slipping got squished by hands. The first several miles are flat, and then you start bouldering into and then up the Ravine. We did find some show in June, and the caves were cold and refreshing. The climb up to the top of the ravine is challenging, but you are rewarded with epic photo ops and views. The only unpleasantness was the mosquitos and black flies. Kids always bring your bug repellent. You can also extend the hike to hit the peak of Mount Adams. It is prone to storms and lightening. You can seek shelter in the hut near the peak if trapped in a storm. You do not have to go back down the ravine, you can return vis the Mount Adams trail, it is a loop.

We have a lot of mountains up here. If you really want a quiet day out during the prime months I suggest you find another trail. There are at least 3 others within 3 miles of this one

We were always impressed with the view and put this on our list of interesting places. We finally made it this year! The views were beautiful! One of the things we loved about this place, is the fact there are plaques or narrative cards that show what you are looking at with a little history behind it. There are places for you to sit next to the ranger station. A few hikers were enjoying a snack break while we were there. They were commenting on how dusty and dry it was. (the drought of 2025 - for future readers reference) There's not a lot of shade, so prepare accordingly. There was plenty of parking and plenty of trails and views to enjoy! We loved it!

Travel 1.5 hrs Will recommend…read more Will return I used the Brooke to liberty Trail there are some very steep slab parts of the trail about 2 miles in I am not that experienced of a hiker and it was OK for me to do. I was intimidated looking at it but once I got my foot grip down, I was OK to continue. There are slippery spots due to being running water off of the mountain the views are breathtaking. The sounds of the babbling Brooks and the little waterfalls are beautiful. and just being in the woods there is just amazing. Everything is alive and I mean that by saying not lots of dead trees around I mean there is dead trees, but it's so much alive that you don't really see the dead trees. it's very dense woods. we did not take the trail that leads all the way to the top of Mount Chocorua (piper) we had a very challenging night the night before with our other tenants of the building so it was best that we had not done that without doing that we had a 7 1/2 mile hike had we included that it probably would've been a 9 mile hike. We took our time and had small 15 minute breaks and in total it took us about 6 1/2 hours, but it can definitely be done in four if you do straight hike up straight hike down. Going down liberty Trail. It was a little bit more wet and mushy because you're going down the mountain and the streams are running down mountain but I didn't care. I have hiking shoes that are intended to get wet so and you can find alternate routes through the woods if you choose to do so it still wouldn't deter me from coming back For the parking you do have to drive down what looks to be a snowmobile trail. Don't be afraid of that. Yes, there is parking enough of it directly where your GPS leads you. I hope you all enjoy your hike
